Stranger in a strange land ] Sleeping with the enemy ] Beholden to the enemy ] Ensnared by the enemy ] Deception ]

The X-Files hardly needs an introduction. I think most people know of Mulder and Scully and the Basement! I took some time to be drawn into the wonder that is the X-Files, and managed to become most excited just as David Duchovny left, and other actors came in to take his place. The X-files was Mulder and Scully for me, although I loved the supporting actors particularly the gorgeous, but somewhat ambiguous, Krycek along with Skinner, CSM, The Lone Gunmen... Unlike many, I enjoy the aliens, the consortium, and the twisting plot arcs. I'm fairly ambivalent about half of Season 8 and all of 9 as Mulder is no longer present. I have no quarrel with Reeves and Doggett, I just can't get excited by them. I read MSR and General X-Files, but yet again, my interest is in slash Mulder/Krycek slash preferably!

The stories below contain slash and were written for adults.

Despite the lack of new stories - was the last one really written in Dec 03? - I am still reading in and writing, very very slowly, for the X-files (Sept 07)

Stranger in a strange land

Genre: AU, Action/Adventure, Drama. Slash M/M (just read it), M/M/K and M/K. 225K

Mulder stumbles into an alternative universe, and is bewildered by both the similarities and differences. June 02

My first X-Files, my first M/K. I love the pairing. Sexy, upright Mulder, and sexy, amoral rat bastard, Krycek. Put together, light the touch paper, and boom, fireworks. I love men, surprise, but like making fun of them at times. I had fun in this story with mild digs at the male psyche. I also touched on some aspects of slash that I find somewhat surprising. I mean, male pregnancy for one, why? My trusty beta, Sarah worked me hard to improve parts of it. I gathered my courage, hit the send button, and posted. I was delighted to get some pretty positive feedback. Apparently a few Briticisms crept in, for which I apologise and have corrected a few obvious ones (mail me if you see others that get up your nose, but don't ask me to change my spellings!). I will set my Americanizer on the next one!

The Friends and Enemies Series

1. Sleeping with the enemy

Genre: Crossover with Ultraviolet, Drama, Slash M/K first time. 183K

Someone from England wants to make use of Mulder, and the Consortium want to know why. December 02

This is a crossover with Ultraviolet but is is based mainly in Mulder's POV. I think that the two universes mix beautifully, and I can see Mulder being both fascinated and appalled by what he discovers. Sarah fitted me in to her extremely busy work and study schedule, and gave me her usual great beta. David commented that one part of the guy's conversation sounded like ''a cocktail party of nelly queens!" so I did a quick rewrite. :-P, and Boltonia bravely took on the Americanizer role despite not knowing anything about UV. Thanks to you all.

2. Beholden to the enemy

Genre: Drama, Slash M/K established.  154K

The American Code V's or vampires are not prepared to leave either Mulder or Krycek alone. In the mean time, someone else has an eye on Mulder. March 03

I was asked to do a sequel to Sleeping with the enemy, I thought I wasn't, apparently I was and this is the result. Once I got into it I thoroughly enjoyed continuing the story and have further to go still. Sarah gave me a wonderfully incisive beta despite being overworked and stressed out. David made his usual helpful comments and assured me that he'd not come across any conversations where the guys sounded like nelly queens <phew> and quercus strutted her stuff in her Americanizing role. Thanks to you all.

3. Ensnared by the enemy

Genre: Drama, Slash M/K established. 158K

Ensnared in a web of lies, half truths and devious machinations, Mulder and Krycek struggle to keep ahead of those that want to make use of them. December 03

This went the way I felt it was predestined to go. I'm not sure if it is an end or a new beginning, but it was fun. Sarah gave me her usual fantastic beta, delaying watching a Stargate episode just to complete it (I feel so honoured). She also feels that I make Mulder suffer beautifully, which kind of worries me since I adore the man! Quercus suggests that I am now an honorary American as she didn't find a single Briticism in the whole story (I'm still working on my reaction to that :-)).As usual, my grateful thanks and appreciation to you both.

Deception

Genre: Drama, Slash M/K first time. 194K

The Smoking Man has watched Mulder for years. Now is the time to develop his potential, but first he must break Mulder's links with the FBI and, specifically, with his friend and partner Dana Scully. He is sure Alex Krycek is the right man for the job. September 03

The third part of the Friends and Enemies series wasn't developing how I wanted it, so I went back to finish a story I started before Sleeping with the enemy. Sarah, busy as ever, gave it the thumbs up - yay! while David suggested a few changes and a very 'evil' alternative ending. I get the feeling he is not too enamoured of my 'partly reformed' Krycek. :-) Quercus happily strutted her stuff in the essential Americanizer role, and, as ever, I am very grateful to you all. I must also thank Griva for making the wonderful cover. It's beautiful and really sums up the essence of the story.
