- Daniel
Jackson Unbound
by Courser. Daniel/Vala. Written before Prometheus Unbound was shown
this is a very sexy take on how the encounter between them could have gone!
-
Another Fine
Universe You've Gotten Us Into
by Tafkarfanfic.
Oh, that pesky quantum mirror.. A highly amusing
case of mistaken universes! And check out Daniel's very own form of
communication while you're reading. *g*
-
Herculaneum by Pares. I think I've recc'd everything this
lady has written! This is a wonderful dialogue piece with a strong,
assertive Daniel going for the jugular and not accepting delay.
- Possession by
muck a luck The ultimate mission failure.
SG-1 is captured by a goa'uld and Jack becomes the goa'uld's new host. Highly intriguing take on Goa'uld possession with the Goa'uld deciding to
follow up on Jack's repressed desire for Daniel. Do read the warnings
though.
- Duck
by sdraevn, Daniel musing on Vala. 'Daniel wants to cry,
seriously, he does. She makes him want to cry big girly tears and stamp his
foot like a child because she drives him that insane. It's a good thing that
Jack's not around because for that reason alone, he'd probably offer her a
job.' This is well worth a read.
- A
commentfic! by fbf. This was written as an anniversary
present for a friend. It is a short, untitled 'commentfic!' its
subject matter is anniversaries and is just delightful.
-
The
Theft of the Thief,
The
Thwarting of the Thief,
The
Thaumaturgy of the Thief The
Thelemity of the Thief and
The Thoroughness of the Thief
by Cleo the muse, is a
delightfully amusing series about Vala's activities between "Prometheus
Unbound" and "Avalon"... so how did Vala know where to find Daniel, and what
bait to bring?
-
Restrained by Lisa Michelle.
A missing scene from
The Powers That Be that gives us the requisite snark yet also shows
the genuine caring developing between Daniel and Vala.
- The
Evolution of Love by Bjs2cents. This is written in Season
8 and is a rather satisfying getting together of Daniel and Jack with some
surprising intervention from Teal'c and Sam.
- My Dinner WithVala by
Aelfgyfu is a missing scene for The Ties That Bind and shows Daniel and Vala's interaction as viewed
from Jack pov, with interjections from both Landry and Teal'c.
- Night
Maneuvers
by Ankh, Daniel/Cameron, gives a highly amusing
explanation for why Mitchell tore the old SG-1 badge off Daniel's arm
and slapped a new one on without a by your leave in Ex Deus Machina,
oh and it also has a little bit of Vala in a predatory vamp mood.
- Cold
by kres is a story that needs carefully rereading. It's poetic,
intense and compelling.
- Jack's
Viking Sky by Mitch H. This is an eight book series. It
is long, very long, involved, detailed and not a light or easy read, but I found
myself absorbed and intrigued.
-
Chrysostom by tafkar Daniel/Vala The author notes that
Chrystostom, or "golden-mouthed", was the appellation given to St. John, one
of the early archbishops of Constantinople, for his way with words. She
also calls is NC-17 gen. Read it and see what she's talking about. *g*
-
Bits and Pieces by
FCOL and others. (gen) This made me giggle,
Sam and Janet overhear the guys talking in the locker room.
-
First
Impressions by Pares. Snappy dialogue, mind
melding/swapping, alien casinos and sex. Could you want more in an J/D fic?
- Christmas
in a State of Mind
by En_vy is a team fic more than J/D
and is highly enjoyable, oh and this story is entirely snowmen, fir
trees, baubles and decorations free.
-
Money's Worth by
Severa. Daniel/Vala. Ever wondered where Vala got her rather vampy clothes from?
- SG-1
Fluff by Thea. Team fic of the Daniel, Vala, Teal'c and
Mitchell variety, so if it's got Vala in it you just know something wicked
must happen!
-
Consider the Ostrich
(Daniel/Vala) by janedavitt, Short and funny.
- Lighter
by Kres. A post Season 8 story that keeps surprising you.
-
Lucky by Julie Fortune (Daniel/Vala). Daniel & Vala off
world, in trouble & trying to get home with all the snarking, flirting,
teasing and sniping we've come to expect from this pair!
-
Babette's Plague
by kellifer k. This is a crossover with
Atlantis, but is J/D all the way! It has Jack as General accompanying SG-1
including Mitchell, on the Prometheus to Atlantis. Trouble hits them all,
particularly Daniel, as soon as they arrive.
-
Corridor Life by rachael sabotini is a post
season 6 story that alludes to Daniel's ascension and return via Jack's
contemplation of the difference in Daniel. The dialogue between the two men
is spot on, as is Daniel's frustration with the idiots he is teaching at the
SG-1. Delightful.
- Five
things that never happened to Daniel Jackson by Todesengel
is, as it states, five possibilities that might have happened. Some are
heart breaking, others intriguing, all are worth a read.
- Walls
and mirrors by Paian. A Season 4 based story that
looks at Daniel and Jack's friendship from Jack's pov. Beautifully written
well characterised and so very plausible.
-
Performance Review and its sequel
Training
by Redbyrd (gen) are tags for Prometheus Unbound. After
their premature return from the Prometheus, SG-3 and Daniel Jackson are
assigned to help train some new recruits. This can be summed up by the
phrase, don't make assumptions about people. SGC recruits learn this to
their costs, oh and Daniel gives advice on dating. *g*.
-
Scratching an Itch by Lady Ra is funny and, well it's
just funny and rather clever. *g*
-
Yet another SG-1 adventure by minnow1212 (gen) is a post
Fourth Horseman story that the author terms SG-1 silliness. it also includes
Jack and is very funny.
-
Deus
Machina by Artifuss Ba'al takes his "godship" one step
further, creating a disastrous mess for the SGC. Intriguing and somewhat
unsettling story that's worth a read.
- Many
Roads
by aurora novarum. (gen) Harrid's consciousness
was not suppressed in Avalon 2 and Origin like Daniel theorized. This is the
story of the many paths in Harrid's journey with Daniel, and the discoveries
and conclusions he made. This is a very intriguing and interesting
story, particularly for the way it tells us as much, if not more, about
Daniel than Harrid. It also takes a look at Vala from a somewhat more
objective viewpoint than Daniel's rather irritated and, understandably,
biased one. *g*
- Cascade
by Kylie Lee (Daniel/Cameron).or
here While SG-1 is on the planet Pelos
for a first-contact negotiation, Daniel suddenly gains the ability to speak
the language. General Season 9 events up through about 9.08 "Babylon. A
very intriguing story that reflects on the new SG-1 and the old SG-1. Sam is
with Jack here, and happy. Daniel is contemplating leaving SG-1 while trying
to learn a very different language. His experiences on the planet, along
with a disconcerting ability to read minds, makes him look at Cameron
Mitchell in a different light.
- Impatient
by green grrl (gen/slash or preslash, take your pick) "Thumanitis?
What's that?" Jack didn't like the sound of it. Season 9 -- even living on
opposite sides of the country, the guys still need to look out for each
other. A highly enjoyable Jack and Daniel interaction following Jack's
admission to a military hospital in Washington DC following a fall.
- The night
beyond the glass
by Paian. Lost City' lost-weekend fic.
The author considers this an unfinished WIP that she knows she'll never
finish and didn't turn out how she expected. What she's given us is a
glorious Jack and Daniel first time with wonderful dialogue and intense
feelings.
- Conundrum
by Nancy Richardson. (gen) Jack needs help and Daniel
reciprocates. I'm not certain that Daniel 'reciprocates', but he
certainly tries to help Jack out here! *g* This is beautiful snappy dialogue
with that wonderful friendly banter and sniping that sums up the Jack and
Daniel friendship.
-
Enduring by chelle. Twenty-one. This will be the
twenty-first time they've done this, snuck away like thieves in the night
Jack's contemplations before and during Daniel's visit to the cabin he's
hired. Short, intriguing and very in character.
- The
Subtext of a Name by Tenaya. (Daniel/Cameron). A rather
delightful story that starts with Daniel musing about choice and finishes
with some wonderfully flirtatious banter between Daniel and Cameron.
-
Walk on
Water
by dirty diana (Daniel/Cameron). An intriguing walk
though Cameron's thoughts and experiences with the SGC, SG-1 and in
particular one Daniel Jackson.
- I've found the
keikotorium at last with Keiko's great
Steak Series
plus a number of other good stories. Her
Hunger
(gennish with subtle slash undertones) where Daniel
becomes a Vampire and Jack lets him feed from him, now has a J/D slash
sequel Need
by green_grrl. which is well worth a read. She also hosts
stories for thevetia and Marie Blackpool of the
wonderful J/D story
The Cost of
A Used Spaceship.
- Five
conversation Daniel never had by Teand is just
hysterical.
- Ripples
by Aelfgyfu. A gen, team story from Sam's pov and an epilogue to
Ripple Effect where we get a good look into Sam's insecurities and
worries. This is intense yet still manages to be humorous at times. It nails
Daniel's character beautifully while Mitchell feels right and Teal'c remains
calm and majestic. A very good Season 9 team fic.
- Another day
at the office by muck a luck. This is a 'aliens made us
do it' type of stories. The author says I have a terrible block about
getting Daniel to top. The entire purpose of this piece of meaningless,
worthless smut was to get Daniel to fuck Jack! I have to admit that the
ending with a somewhat bewildered and concerned Hammond listening to
SG-1 mission report was my favourite part. *g*
- Upon A Fiery
Steed
by Vathara. (Gen on SG-1s part!) Daniel. Duo.
Two trouble magnets, one very unlucky System Lord... Gundam Wing AU
crossover. I know nothing about Gundam Wing, but I did find this
crossover fascinating when I read it some years back, rereading it again, I
think it's worth a rec.
- Lost in
Translation by Vathara. Ever wonder what would happen
if a Goa'uld misread hieroglyphs? Another oldie, but very funny story
that had me chortling from time to time.
- April Fool
by Anais. Anyone who has read Dr Jackson's Diary know of Anais' off
the wall humour and hysterical characterisations of Jack and Daniel... and
if you haven't, why not, so go any enjoy another hysterical turn out with
Jack, Daniel and Princess. *g*
-
Jell-O-Shots by Jennghis Kahn. A funny and highly
enjoyable team fic as seen from Sam's pov.
- As
The Sun Rises by Sonata nights Just a few minutes in
the early morning wake-up of Daniel and Jack. An enjoyable snap shot
into moments of Jack and Daniel's life in the early days of SG-1.
- Give and
Take by Jane Davitt (gen) It's set immediately
after S7's Homecoming; I figured that after being ascended Daniel's credit
rating would be lousy, and he'd need somewhere to stay for a short while as
it all got sorted out. A delightful friendship fic with Jack and Daniel
so wonderfully and snidely in character it almost hurts. *g*
- Rules of
Evidence by Paian Some porn and lengthy Daniel angst
for tax day. A long, slow first time from Daniel's pov with added angst.
*g*
-
Revolution by Sideburns. Daniel has a few things to
get off his chest... A postscript to Evolution, a well characterised
Daniel and an interesting exploration of the relationships between all of
the team as well as Jack and Daniel
-
This other Life by kellifer "I don't regret my life or
the things I've done. Maybe I made some huge mistakes, but they were mine.
This other Daniel..." he wasn't me at all. Interesting episode tag for
Ripple Effect.
- Trust Me
by theemdash. Daniel take s a few moments alone in his office.
A missing scene from Crusade, so you know Vala's got to be involved some how
or other. *g*
- Ardesco
by Eideann When Daniel confronted Jack about the bad attitude
he's been displaying towards him, he certainly didn't expect the colonel to
declare his undying love. He needs to get away, and a paleontological
expedition suggested by Robert Rothman seems just the ticket for some time
to think. An interesting and well written story. While this story
is complete in itself it looks as if it is intended to be part of a series,
and, if the quality remains the same, I'll look forward to reading more
-
The
Trouble with Normal
by Rosalita After a Goa'uld
invasion, Jack contemplates Daniel and the new normal. A very good 'apocafic'
with wonderful banter between Jack and Daniel.
- Adjustments
by muck a luck This story is a close cousin of
Metamorphosis,
except in this story, Daniel really has changed into a woman. And a damn
good, but angsty story it is with three separate endings. A, B and C, I like
ending A best, but then Daniel as a woman does nothing for me. *g*
- Found in
Translation by green grrl. For the
arcana_fic
challenge. My prompt was the Ace of Cups: A rather beautiful and gentle
love story making for a pleasant change of pace from the usual.
- I, In
this Darkness by Destina Written for Komos in the 2006
Jack/Daniel ficathon. Komos's requirements: 1) established relationship 2)
One of them finding out something he never knew about the other. Her
additional requests: 1) dangerous/specialOps!Jack 2) powerful, morally
ambiguous Daniel-to-be-reckoned-with. A very well written, powerful
story that gains from rereading.
- Not a fic but a Daniel/Vala vid which is a lot of fun to watch.
Over my Head
by
di_br
- Metaphor
by synecdohic (Daniel/Cameron) Cam's trying his very
best, but he's beginning to get worried it might not be good enough.
Daniel's got an advantage: he knows his best has never been
good enough and the sequel
Depth Charge
Cam fucks up a lot, but his biggest fuckup is thinking that Daniel's just
this guy, you know? Two fascinating fics from Cameron's pov. I'm not
entirely sure that this Daniel is quite the man I adore on screen, but he is
sure intriguing and Cameron's attempts to get to know him are both amusing
and very rewarding.
- The Dead Can Dance
by Sorrel (pre slash). "He came here most every night, now, a
grudging sense of duty changed to grudging respect changed to friendship
changed to something more." Jack pays a visit to the Jackson household.
An absolutely fascinating and original AU
- Folsom Prison
Blues by Evell Gen A fiery death was so
not on his agenda for today. A clever, witty and very funny team fic
with wonderful voices for all of the team (Jack, Daniel, Sam and Teal'c).
- The Archaeology of Skin
by Nanda OT4 (D/S/J/T, sort of). "Don't you ever just want to
touch somebody? Don't you miss that?" Spoilers for S1 Tin Man; takes place
between Tin Man and Double Jeopardy. A great team fic, okay, with sex,
but it's more about friendship and making a place for themselves.
- The Matter at
Hand by Cofax and Jonquil. Daniel and Vala are trapped
offworld. Stuff happens. A beautifully written Daniel/Vala story, very
in character and often very funny.
- Fanboy
by Tang Guangzhen. (Daniel/Cameron discussion of
Jack/Daniel) Cam deals with his little hero-worship situation, among
other things. A funny, clever story that centres on Cameron's 'enthusiasm' for all of SG-1, but for Daniel there's that little bit
extra...
- Blackmail
by Winkyb Daniel's living with Jack and it has its
consequences. A beautifully characterised and often funny story.
- Bait and
Switch by kellifer_fic Pre slash. Covert
Ops!Jack!!! (AU) challenge. In a SGC gone bad and under NID control, Sam
and Daniel try their best to fight back. Then 'someone' takes more than an
interest in their activities. This is a fascinating and intriguing story.
-
The Perils of Dating Daniel Jackson
(Daniel/Cameron)
by Layton Colt They're like the scariest almost in-laws ever. Very funny and very clever Cameron baiting story with wonderful Jack/Daniel
friendship.
- Close to
Bone
by
synecdohic Nobody hears from Jack's clone for three
years, until he shows up and tells Daniel they're all in danger. Hallowed be
the Ori.
was written for the
dark_gate
ficathon and dark is is with SG-1 going rogue for the best of intentions.
There's a smidgeon of CloneJack/Daniel, but this is mainly a team fic.
To Let His Kingdon
Rise by ivorygates is a chilling coda or
alternatively
Tangled Web: Five Ways The Truth Will Out by greengirl
giving us three very different endings from details planted in
Close to Bone and two endings extended past To Let His Kingdom
Rise. All are worth reading.
- Blues
From Down Here by Kiden "Not," Jack says, sliding all
of Daniel's French fries onto his own plate. "It's perfectly natural, if not
expected, for an officer to develop a crush on a superior. Happens all the
time." Lovely mixture of hope and happiness alongside pain and
melancholy, centres on Jack and Daniel, but the team are always present.
- By
Any Other Means by
Tallulah Rasa It's hard to say what's better, and who's
best. A vignette more than a story, post-Fragile Balance
A lovely Jack and Daniel friendship piece as seen via a
conversation with Daniel and miniJack.
-
Cornerstone by abyssinia4077 (D/Sam, D/Share,D/Sarah)
His fingers, long and steady, trace hieroglyphs, letters, runes, ideographs
into her back, fingertips rubbing against warm, smooth skin as he imprints
the protective charms of twenty-three languages into her flesh. A
beautiful poetic look at the women in his life that Daniel loves or has
loved.
- A
million years into the sky by Niamaea
Gen,
team; (peripheral S/C) Niamaea is one of the founders of
sg1_ever_after,
about giving SG-1 happy endings. This beautiful story certainly does that,
in a very warm and gentle manner.
- Keys
by blue meridian The mission had been... long. He didn't have
pictures of Jack in the ball gown, but he'd settle for catching up on his
sleep. A delightfully amusing story based on Daniel's apparent regular
change of accommodation! This is gen/pre slash, the sequels are J/D slash and
well worth reading as well.
- Bonded
by Tallulah Rasa Gen Early season
silliness Jack discovers that dismissing his linguist as unnecessary is
very unwise as Daniel takes subtle revenge for the insults. I was in tears
of laughter by the end.
- Beach
Towels and Revelations by Six Before Lunch (D/S implied)
Sam misses the obvious until one day she doesn't. Fun interaction
between Sam, Vala and Cameron.
- Five Ways
Daniel improved Atlantis by findo I was drawn into the
story by the title and despite the fact that my interest in SGA is very
minimal I stayed throughout because it was both interesting and often funny.
-
Fates Reflection by Yum (gen) Jack O'Neill thought he
had seen the last of the quantum mirror. But when someone comes through the
Stargate wearing his face, he finds himself and his team thrown into a war
that could bear impossibly high costs for them all. Spoilers from seasons 1
to 3 I have the zine, and a very long, but good read it is too. Yum has
crafted a fascinating tale of an alternate universe, juxtaposing it against
our original SG-1 universe. She has created duplicates of Jack, Sam, Daniel
and other members of the SGC, but not of Teal'c. Many of the SGC actually
meet up with each other throughout the story, and have some fun in the
process. It is also a pleasure to find General Maybourne as a 'good'
character. I knew he had it in him! The main characters are, however, Jack's
double, Captain John O'Neill; Daniel's double, Dan O'Neill; and Sam's
double, Commander Sammy Hansen. Dr Frasier and her 'double' also play a
leading role. The breadth of the story is enormous, and the list of
characters - old, new and duplicate - is vast. While the major characters
maintain the momentum of the story, Yum does not forget her minor
characters, and their contributions are intriguing, and often essential to
the plot. Read the whole review
here.
-
Trigger Finger (The eleven o'clock remix) by mistral amara
(gen) Daniel has an unexpected brush with danger, and his team members
find out. Amusing and clever.
- The Joy That You
Find Here You've Borrowed by Paian The Ancients were
the Teachers of Roads. Now all the roads are broken. (set after Unending)
This was written for the
apocalypse_kree ficathon. The story is painful and hard, and
you may very well cry at the end, but it is so worth reading (there is the
potential for a happy ending and the promise of an epilogue). It includes
all the Season 10 team, plus Jack, and the development of Jack and Daniel's
relationship is beautifully drawn.
- Not a story, but a video rec.
Stargate SG-1,
Flagpole Sitta (aka A Decade Of Whump) by the fabulous
littleheaven.
This centres on Daniel (the title might have given you a
clue *g*) and I think this must be one of the best, if not the best, fan
video I've seen. The music selected is so damn apt and the cutting and
editing is so superbly done so as to completely fit with the lyrics that I'm
in total awe.
- The Sun on the
Horizon by Caprice Sesh This story was
inspired by a challenge on the HC list a few years ago. "Start a story with
the words "Daniel lay on the floor, naked, bound..." From that small gumnut
a mighty mountain ash grew, and keeps growing! Fascinating start, and
grows more interesting as each chapter is added.
- Please Hang
UP and TRY Again (five phone call Daniel Jackson never got) by
abyssinia4077 Daniel got a lot of phone calls over the years.
Here's five he didn't. Beautiful and heartbreaking. Calls from AU
universes and calls that seem so very believable for his teammates to have
left for him while he was still 'glowy'.
- Duck Duck Goose
by Sid (Daniel/Cameron) Prompt was Rubber ducks. And a napkin
store that also has silver and yellow candles. Which turned into a very
funny crack fic!
- A Different
Sort of Command by kuonji There's Jack, and there's
Daniel, but not quite as we know them! This is clever and funny and
looks like it may become a series!
-
maut
ka mandir by 001100100 Indiana Jones and the Temple of
Doom fusion A delightful AU J/D interest of course, but more focused on
the story and the action with Teal'c playing a very prominent part
-
You
Can't Always Get What You Want by betacandy It's 2995 B.C. in Ancient
Egypt, and Daniel's marooned with a Sam who's making moon eyes at him, a
Jack's who's determined to get under his skin, a ship to repair, a rebellion
to plan, and a big pile of Jaffa in the basement. At least Teal'c's cool.
Dedicated to everyone who watched Moebius Part 2 and thought, "WTF did they
just do to my Daniel??? Strand him in hell with Teal'c and the Kama Sutra
Twits?" I wrote the story to find out, and it turns out maybe it wasn't so
bad after all. Wonderfully engaging story.
-
Stargate Explorer by starg8 explorer (gen)The
Further Adventures of Daniel Jackson A very interesting and often highly
angsty AU that is well worth a read.
- Untitled
Daniel by 6beforelunch A delightful comment fic in
regards to the fanon trope that Daniel is regularly bullied at the SGC. They
wouldn't dare...
-
Planet of the Penguins by greensilver
Jack and Daniel at the zoo This made me snigger happily.
-
Someone
there to hear it by Spaniel Kindred spirits and shared
frustrations, and maybe a little too much gin. A short Heroes (Mohinder)
SG-1(Daniel) crossover, and very clever it is too
- A
Better Species of Insults by Lokei You know that
saying, ‘don’t dish it out if you can’t take it?’
Daniel’s giving lessons. Very clever and amusing.
- Unreasonable
by raqs Sam/Daniel. This is a delightful pairing of Sam and Daniel.
The author usually writes J/D and she manages to allude to that here as
well, but this is a gorgeous friendship/love story and I really enjoyed
Sam's voice and her pov in this. Just delightful.
