Desperate Measures by v v c Harry may be a half-Veela, but there was no such thing as a destined mate. If somebody wanted him, they would have to prove their worthiness. And Draco's chances don't look so good when Harry guts him at the welcoming feast Harry's choices are intriguing, but I didn't particularly care for this Harry who was willing to allow so much human suffering just because he felt he was pushed into a position he shouldn't have been. I also didn't much enjoy the end where an OC featured. I read Harry/Draco for Harry and Draco rather than OCs. The story is however very original and well constructed and is worth reading. Complete

Drop Dead Gorgeous by Maya Harry (Veela) and Draco as Aurors. A well written and funny crack fic, with lovely characterised Harry and Draco, but it is also very angsty at times. Draco in love with a woman is surprisingly sweet, but so not what I want to read particularly when poor Harry is so despairing and sad! Good read (NB: Maya will be taking down all her fan fiction by Sept 08 as she will then be a published author but all her fiction will be available in pdf format to download before then)).

While interesting, I got very irritated by the constant use of epithets for Harry (Auror, Gryffindor etc.) when a simple Harry, he, his, him etc would have been so less awkward. Complete

How Life Can Be by Jih Pun Draco's job is a dream come true but exhausting and his boyfriend doesn't help matters either. Draco wants to start a family but his boyfriend is abusive. What happens when everything does a 360 in a single moment? Taking it's time to establish a relationship, but the premise of the fic, particularly Draco's apparent abusive relationship with a muggle, lack any credibility.
How to Charm a Dragon by Skysha-Tranqui - A twist on an old tale. Harry is part-veela, but he isn't exactly comfortable with his new heritage. Complete. Very slow, long build up with some interesting twists along the way, but also a little confusing.
I can't fight the Stars by LMG or here Draco Malfoy had known what was going to happen to him on his 18th birthday since he was 5 years old. But damn, even he hadn't expected this. Veela!Draco and Mate!Harry. Well written and interesting.

Icarus Rising by ryokoblue It's the final battle. Harry's on a warpath to find Voldemort, but what happens when he runs into an old school rival? Especially when said rival is no longer exactly... human? Complete plus Easter Egg, an extra 'epilogue'. This is well worth reading. Recommended.

Harry draws his line in the sand. This far and no further! Harry versus Dumbledore! This has a H/G (among other het pairings) and H/D is promised, but we'll not know the final outcome until the end. This is interesting, but all of the characters are rather unsympathetic. Snape is even more foul than usual, Dumbledore is manipulative beyond measure, Draco wants to take, whatever the cost, and Harry is too knowledgeable, too clever, too manipulative and rather too cold. If this is a pro Draco I'd hate to read an anti Draco story. *g* Draco is his nasty, mean, spiteful, bigoted little self here, the HP story has just been rewritten and twisted in Draco's favour and we're invited to approve and go along with him and the 'wronged and maligned' Slytherins and hate the 'deceitful, self righteous, hypocritical' Gryffindors and Dumbledore. Harry seems to be pretty much in character and the story is well plotted and conceived with a lot of back history and information on purebloods. However, I have to say that the sheer manipulation of the 'facts' to fit up the Gryffindors and exonerate vicious vindictive bastards such as the Malfoys and Snape does get a little wearying and annoying. I also have to say that I found Blaise and his oozing possessive love all over his 'cherub' Neville (yes, that Neville) rather nauseating, but this story is certainly worth a read.

Soul Seeker by Aisling Harry didn't watch Severus die, so he never learnt that he was a Horcrux. When Voldemort was defeated Harry made sure not to get hit by the Killing Curse, and therefore a part of Voldemort's soul still lives on inside him. When Draco is freed of the Dark Mark, his Veela heritage starts to search out his Mate, but his Mate's soul isn't calling out to his own like it's meant to. Instead, the Horcrux is calling out to Voldemort's soul, and Harry's scar is still hurting. All is not well. Alternative ending to DH. Interesting and original although Draco feels a little OOC.

The Challenge of being a Veela's mate by triola Harry wakes up looking like a girl, Draco is possessive, yet oddly cuddly, Hermione squeals like the girl she is, and Pansy is rather likeable. A tale of a Veela and his mate. Or was it a mate and his Veela? This beginning was really funny and rather clever, plus the use of Harry's voice in first person was highly original and, even if I think it got a little twee by the end, it's still a Good read.
