Hogwarts
Last update 10.11.09 The 94 stories are listed alphabetically with
the latest stories added since the last update indicated by
new.
- A Mile in his
Shoes by Sansa It's ten years after the war and a chance meeting on a
small island changes Harry and Draco from who they've become into who they
want to be. Intriguing and captivating story that depicts Harry and
Draco as older and wiser and slowly coming to terms with both the events of
the war and themselves.
-
A Mix of Snow and Petals by
el em en oh pee It's been two years since The Incident,
and Harry still hasn't gotten completely over it, still can only get by
day-to-day. Enter Draco, who will do anything to reestablish his name
in the Ministry and the Wizarding World... Gorgeously subtle and
understated story.
-
A
Reckless Frame of Mind by Lomonaaeren Draco is a
Psyche-Diver, and his newest patient is Auror Potter, who's been a
pathological liar for over a year, and has just tried to violently end his
own life. Another original and beautifully written story by Lononaaeren.
This is the first part and is a somewhat difficult read because of the
manner is which Harry is suffering. The sequel is
A
Determined Frame of Mind
- A Scrap of
Humanity and its sequel The
Metamorphosis of Narcissus by HF are superbly written
stories about Harry, Draco and Ron a number of years Post Hogwarts and two
years after the end of the war. In the first Draco is called out of exile to
assist the Ministry and in so doing makes contact with both Ron and Harry.
In the second, Ron helps Harry to keep in contact with Draco despite the
risks, but all three fall foul of a vengeful Fudge.
- A
Secret History by Warholhp A secret history is a
version of history at odds with commonly accepted historical narrative, a
history claimed to have been deliberately suppressed or forgotten. Harry
Potter, struggling to make a life for himself after the war, is about to
discover his. An intense, powerful, disturbing and beautifully written
story.
- A Star and
a Stray Cat by winnett Draco wanted what Harry had:
family, job, an Animagus form, love. Harry wanted Draco. Unusual,
creative and enjoyable story.
-
A Test of Character
by Silent Auror Draco Malfoy is
nearly finished his Auror training. However, something comes up in his
character testing which may prevent him from qualifying: he is required to
befriend an old enemy. Lovely, lovely story.
- All
in the cards by themostepotente A tale of love and heartbreak
told in five vignettes. A very clever and original take on the
Harry/Draco romance/relationship. The OCs are beautifully drawn and really
add to the story.
- Amalgam
by dacro. After Voldemort falls, Harry and Draco return to
Hogwarts to teach. When a metal wand and a student with no past put the
school in danger of a vampire attack, it's up to Harry, Draco, and the rest
of Hogwart's staff (new and old) to survive the day, save the school, solve
a mystery, and get lost in all the sexual tension. (Like a Scooby-Doo
episode--except with Parseltongue!) Fascinating story with mystery,
intrigue, angst and some horror. The events take place all within 24 hours
- And We Are At Our Apogee
by Nicole. Harry doesn't
remember. Draco wanted revenge, but it didn't work out that way. A
beautifully written, almost dreamy piece from Draco's pov. Harry slowly
remembers, and Draco waits, watches and fears.
-
Anything
but Ordinary by Bonibaru Seventeen minutes before the
hot dog roast, and Harry can't find his trousers. Draco's bored, Harry's
angry, and Muggles jump out of perfectly good airplanes. Will true love
prevail? A delightful short slightly fluffy story.
-
Beneath Boundless Skies by
blamebrampton The
end of one journey is the start of another. No matter how long it takes for
you to make the first step. Original and fascinating story of two parts.
-
Beyond
the Lethe by ZS. For Harry, forgetting was easy... A very beautifully written story of Harry, the consequences of his battle
with Voldemort and the lengths that those who care about him will go to to
'fix him' and ensure that Voldemort is truly defeated.
-
Beyond the Pale by
m jadis. Postwar. With less than
130 days left on his sentence, the velvet-lined walls of Draco Malfoy's
prison begin tumbling down, revealing closely guarded secrets and unspoken
truths. A very intriguing and original story. I had major
problems with Harry's characterisation at first, but the 'twist' was very
cleverly done.
-
Black
Magic by Moonlight by Beren Harry Potter could
find trouble in paradise and when Draco sends him to St Louis for a holiday
it's not paradise and there's lots of trouble. With dark magic, vampires,
lycanthropes and more, who else could sort it out but Anita Blake? Beren
is an excellent author. This story is a crossover with Anita Blake, but you
don't need to know the universe at all. Her Harry and Draco are to die for,
particularly her strong, young, adult Harry, but Draco is beautifully realised
as well.
- Black Tie
Formal, Someone Like You,
Untied
by SilentAuror are a series of short stories that depict the adult
Harry and Draco within a relationship. Draco is annoyed at Harry's tardiness
and inability to tie his black tie. Blaise, makes him rethink his attitude.
The middle story is a nice reflection on Harry and Draco from Seamus and
Blaise's view point.
-
Blood and Brimstone
by calenthe fics The Inquisition claims it
reforms and cleanses Prodigals of their demonic heritage, but Captain Harry
Potter learns that the Church has lost its way and is worse by far than the
devils in Hells Below. An absolutely excellent story written for the
hd_career_fair.
Original, fascinating and absorbing. Set some time aside and read it.
-
Blue Vase by
Ivy Blossom. When Harry seems to forget
who he is, Draco seizes the opportunity to change history . A gentle
tale from Draco's perspective of his observations and thoughts on Harry post
war
-
Brave
New World by Silent Auror The first post-war Christmas
is coming to Grimmauld Place. As the Order of the Phoenix ponders its
future, Harry sorts through a maze of war records and quickly begins to see
that not everything is as it should be... Very enjoyable story with a
great plot. I adored Harry in this, weary, angry, lonely, but still his
compassionate self. Draco came over well and I loved his need for Harry to
give a fuck about him, and Harry's fumbling and nervous attempts to make
good. A sequel is promised.
-
Breakfast in bed
by Anjali Since they had started
sleeping together, they'd had exactly nine Deep Conversations, all involving
Them and where They were going, but Harry always blushed and sidled around
certain issues... Anj calls this smutty, smutty fluff, I thought it was
delightful.
-
Bulding With worn Out Tools by Lomonaaeren
or here
Right smack in the middle of a stormy divorce from Ginny, Harry has no
reason to be attracted to his Arguer, Draco Malfoy. I mean, it's Malfoy.
Nicely written and very intriguing story.
- Business As Usual by
rurounihime Harry's Christmas
isn't shaping up the way he'd imagined it would. A lovely and often
funny story of misunderstanding in which Draco assumes that business and
pleasure can be handled in the same way, while Harry retreats to lick his
wounds and wrap his tattered dignity around him when he thinks he is being
played for a sucker.
- Carpe Diem by
LaeVus Harry is scarred and fading after the war. As he battles
himself and works to make the world better, he faces corruption from those
he fought to protect. An intriguing story of the aftermath of war as it
affects Harry and those he holds dear. WIP
- Changing
of the Guard by Lomonaaeren or
here
Need a perfect stranger? Ask Metamorphosis. Harry Potter runs the
business secretly and becomes whoever's needed for each occasion. He's not
sure whether he should be more surprised, worried, or amused when Draco
Malfoy comes to Metamorphosis and requests an actor who can play his
boyfriend so that his parents will disown him. Yet Harry has even more
dangerous choices after he creates Brian, Draco's "perfect" boyfriend. Draco
doesn't know who Brian is, but he's trying to find out - and now so is Harry.
Another original and beautifully written story from Lomonaaeren
-
Coming Home
by Emphatic Siren Draco's been searching
for Harry for seven years. After finding him, he's determined to make him
see reason and return to England. However, Draco gets the surprise of his
life when he finds that he's the one who changes, and that home is a state
of mind. A beautifully written and delightful piece that shows both
Harry's resilience and Draco's maturation and change.
- new
Contra
Mundum by Tigersilver Auror!Harry; PotionsMaster!Draco
Thoroughly enjoyable, original and fascinating story.
- Cure for the
Flu by Ivy Blossom. Draco's got the flu, and when
Harry and Draco duel some of his flu medication ends up in Harry's ear,
making him...you guessed it. Telepathic. Only, it turns out that Draco has
the world's most mundane thoughts. Will Harry survive the tedium? Can Snape
(or Hermione) cure them? Funny, clever and highly enjoyable. I loved the
ending.
-
Damaged
by Maayan Three years after Dumbledore's murder, Lord
Voldemort has won the war. All those who opposed him are either in hiding or
sold as slaves, including the famous Boy Who Lived. Draco Malfoy is not the
only one who is disappointed and disillusioned with the outcome, but the
return of a lost relative promises to change everything. A very interesting story with a damaged, but still just about
functioning, Harry and a Draco who cares about him while secretly lusting over him. The story
unfolds slowly as Harry and his friends, who've survived and escaped
Voldemort, work together to destroy the Dark Lord and his regime. (Looks
like it has been abandoned.)
- Dancing with the Devil
by knightmare (friends locked). Fresh from an
assignment, Auror Harry Potter is given another one, to go undercover and
discover the truth to the rumors of a new Dark Lord. What he finds is
something else entirely, something he never expected. I've enjoyed this
story from the word go. It's intriguing and mysterious with a great romance
between Harry and Draco.
- Draco's Flying Escort
Service by Cheryl Dyson Draco Malfoy's job is to
escort travelers through territory made perilous after the war. Harry Potter
is forced to hire him, but his destination isn't quite what Draco had in
mind Thoroughly
enjoyable story with a number of entertaining sequels

Drink Up Thy Zider: A South Hams Pomona by
wemyss Harry, like Draco a widower, their children being adults or soon to
become so, has retired to a South Hams village, where he farms and makes
cider in a gentlemanly way, not that the Ministry accepts that he's not
a political threat. When Draco is accused of huge losses and malfeasance
in his position at Goldstein & Zabini, the private and merchant bank
that straddles the Muggle-magical boundary, Blaise and Pansy arrange for
him to escape to South Devon whilst awaiting the investigation.
Naturally, Draco's friends – and his mother and his son – have a hidden
agenda . Superb story beautifully written and very quirky, humorous,
sexy and British (hugs it to death for that fact alone). Do read the
warnings, they are hilarious. :-) My absolute favourite from the many,
often excellent, stories written for the
hd
career fair
- F_a_c_u_l_t_i_e_s Intact by
wondersdontcare Most plans are cunning until people start getting eaten: when
students go missing inside Hogwarts, four years after the war, Harry is
determined to find out why. This was thoroughly
enjoyable and often very funny. A kind of bewildering yet exciting ride
through Harry's disjointed thoughts. Harry and Draco are wonderful together
and the ending was spot on.
- Faith
by Riventhorn If Harry could give Draco a second chance, would he?
Two Solitudes
How far can faith take you? and
The Scent of Lightning
Harry thought Slytherin's vision of hatred had died with Voldemort. But
what if Slytherin found a way to come back? Would Harry be able to stop him
before the magical world was engulfed in terror and chaos again? Are a trio of stories about Harry and Draco and their relationship with
their friends and the Wizarding public. They are well written, well plotted
and intriguing.
-
For the
Public Good by blamebrampton Harry is loaned to the Muggle
government to assist relations between the two governments after the London
bombings. When his counterpart in the Communications team comes to him with
evidence of a plot to expose wizarding Britain, he is all ears. And only in
part because the messenger has such a familiar voice. This is wonderful,
so very, very funny and brilliantly British!
- Grim
by Mahaliem Post-war, Post-Hogwarts. Harry lived alone. A
spare, but beautiful little story.
- Hand to Hand
Combat by Thwax. Voldemort is dead, but his enemy's
destruction has cost Harry Potter dearly. Yet, there is more to the
consequences than Harry could have imagined. His Muggle upbringing has left
him ignorant of his new condition: there is someone who is more than willing
to open his eyes just after his seventeenth birthday. A very enjoyable
story with both Harry and Draco seeming very in character and lovely use of
the rivalry and 'attraction' between them. The sequel is
Slight of Hand
and I have to admit that I really did not enjoy it and would have
happily strangled Draco for being such a complete and utter
vindictive bastard to Harry. I'm not fond of heavy hurt and angst however
good the writing.
- Happiness involving a tea house by
Nope. Harry just
happens to be sitting in a tea house sipping camomile tea when in walks
Draco Malfoy. The waitress listens with interest to the ensuing
conversation. Hardly
Working by 1ightning Harry's desire to work with
dragons is a liability, and unfortunately this seems to be Draco's problem.
Beautiful written, funny and satisfying story.
-
How do You Mend a Broken Heart? by
mahaliem In order to
keep custody of his children, Draco needs to find a spouse that will shore
up the Malfoy family's tattered reputation. But what starts off as a means
to an end gets more complicated when Draco's target reawakens feelings in
him that he hasn't had in a long while, and Draco starts to feel alive for
the first time since his wife's death. Highly enjoyable and clever story
with a lot of wit and some laugh out loud moments.
- Icarus Rising
by Darla Darco is a Draco as Veela story, but it is so much more than
that, and so very well written and planned out. I recommend it highly.
-
In A Mirror Dimly by
animimares Six years have passed since
Harry won the war, opening to him a future as the Hero. However, his victory
has been costly and, seeking a new life, he chooses to take desperate
measures to start from scratch, leaving everything he knew behind. Now his
flight from a life he doesn't want has led him to France only to land him
face to face with a ghost from his past. Beautifully written, soulful,
evocative story. WIP
- Interview with
a Hero by scoradh At the age of twenty-five, Draco is
confronted with the past he'd rather not remember and the questions that
still need answering. Still, a little Slytherin guile goes a long way. The
only problem is that he might discover more than he bargained on about the
people he thought he knew. Clever, intriguing and bitter sweet
story that left me wanting more and caring very much for both Harry
and Draco as well as a number of other characters.
- Into the
West by Grey Hunter A very different type of story,
beautifully written and highly intriguing.
-
Just Another Recollection by
Nepenthe Draco's
short-term memory is destroyed from Harry's duelling spell, causing him to
wake up every morning like it's just the next day. When, in fact, it has
been three years. We come in on the morning that Draco wakes up early and
finds a Mister Harry Potter in his bed... A bittersweet tale of love,
memory and friendship
- Learning Life
Over by
Meander or
here Harry was a workaholic
Auror, and happy that way. He did not ask Malfoy to kidnap him and teach him
the finer points of pleasure. This is different, intriguing, well
plotted and well written. I can almost imagine an emotionally tired and
grieving Harry becoming the man he is in the story, and I can also manage to
believe in this obsessed and devious Draco.
- Left My
Heart by Emma Grant. Post-Hogwarts. Auror Draco Malfoy
has disappeared, and Harry Potter has been sent to find him. This is about
Harry and Draco meeting as adults in Los Angeles. I was very amused and
impressed by the wonderful detail Emma provides us for international flight
via portkeys and I liked the whole feel of the story. Most enjoyable with a
great Hermione.
Surrender the Grey
or here
is the sequel.
- Life
After by Ravengirl. Harry retreats to Grimmauld Place
after the war's end. When a white ferret turns up in his garden, things
start to get interesting. Thoroughly enjoyable story with great
characterisations of Harry and Draco as both ferret and himself. *g*
Future Past
is the highly enjoyable sequel.
- Like Glass
by Penguin War is over and Voldemort defeated; Harry has been used
and thrown away. He lives in Muggle London, lost, confused and destroyed.
But Lupin and others want him to return to the wizarding world, and Draco
Malfoy is sent out to find him. A very rewarding read.
- Lilac
Cottage by
The Ruby Moth Years after the War,
Draco is on the run and asks the Order for help. Sent to a safe house, he
finds Harry in a remote English cottage. The inevitable happens, fairly
quickly. A rather delightful and intriguing post war story with great Harry/Draco interaction.
- Lonely Moon
by eleventy7 More than a decade after the Battle, Harry returns to
Hogwarts as a professor and discovers a student with a familiar face and an
unexpected past. Slowly developing and absolutely delightful tale with
a wonderful Scorpius and Teddy as added bonus.
- Love
Always, Draco by Newshound Even though it's been four
years since Harry and Draco parted ways, when Harry's career takes a
nosedive, he turns to his past for help. Harry and Draco join forces on a
project both hope will reinvigorate their lives, and a journey into the
secret world of Quidditch, becomes the path to renewed love. An
enjoyable look at adult Harry and Draco who fell passionately in love and
fell out of love even more passionately, but still secretly hold a candle
for the other even if they deny it to themselves, however, the angst and
'will he won't he' just goes on that bit too long and spoilt it a little for
me.
-
Meaningful Conversation
by rurounihime. The best conversations happen at the oddest times. Harry Potter comes back
to London and finds Draco Malfoy there, ready to pick up where they left
off. Post-Hogwarts. A witty exploration of Harry and Draco as adults
managing to have sex, but not quite managing to ever talk about
anything really important.
- Momenti Diversi
by Zarah. In which you'll find the Italian sun, some
sexual tension, a reluctant Harry and a persuasive Draco. A beautiful
story that really evokes the taste and smell of Italy.
- Moment
by Moment by Thwax. Voldemort and his followers have
won the war. The Dark Lord rules Britain and those who oppose him are
scattered, some in exile in the USA, and others underground in their own
country. Harry Potter is one of those for whom America has become a home,
that is until his nemesis is given a promise by those who represent
authority for the exiled Britons. The promise will lead Harry into more than
he could ever have expected. This is long, clever, original, blood
thirsty, horrifying, frustrating and many more adjectives in between. Seen
from Harry's view point with a wonderfully depicted and realised romantic
relationship between Harry and Draco. Read it!
- Mutual
Interest by
Olivia Lupin. The war is over, it's
been over for exactly one year, and there is a special event at Hogwarts to
celebrate. Harry attends, and runs into an old adversary-turned-ally, Draco
Malfoy. There's Ron, Hermione, and Pansy. There's conversation and dessert.
And there is the acknowledgement of long-denied attraction and lots and lots
of possibilities. I enjoyed this even as I thought that Harry was just a
little naive, particularly in his conversation with Pansy.
Worth the Wait is the companion piece in Draco's pov (first person) and is
perhaps even better than the first story.
-
Not
Ours To Command by furiosity When a poisoning case
ends up on Harry's desk at the Auror HQ, Harry finds himself backed up
against the wall. Figuratively speaking. Features typical Slytherins, a
minor parade of house-elves, a toddler-chasing Ron and a rude talking
mirror. A very well written murder mystery with a rather Slytherin acting Harry,
a pissed off and angry Draco great dialogue, and some wonderful one liners.
- Now and
Then by oldenuf2nobetter Even the death of Voldemort
did not end the struggle between good and evil. And even the discovery of a
new and unexpected power cannot save Harry from having to deal, once and for
all, with an old nemesis. A very different story, no romance and
sweetness to be found here between Harry and Draco at all, instead perverted
obsession and hate on Draco's part counterbalanced with wonderful friendship
and love in the shape of Harry's friends and Ginny. Very angsty and
compulsive.
- Obscurity of Love
by mony2208 Haunted by memories of the war, Harry can't move on
with his life. He feels left behind and lacking that one thing his mother
saved him with all those years ago... Love. With all his friends already
finding love, will Harry allow a mysterious, obscured figure into his life
and into his heart? A rather delightful story with a beautifully drawn
Harry and an intriguing Draco.
- On the
last day of our world by Sansa1 During a detention,
Harry and Draco are locked in a strange room overnight. When they escape the
next morning, they are alone. Love, angst and adventure abound as they
struggle to survive in an empty world. AU, written pre-HBP. A
really excellent story that keeps you guessing all the way through. The
ending may require some tissues, but is beautiful.
-
Original
Sinn by The Autumn Star or
here and Draco had a mission.
It was simple. Find out who stole the artefact, and get it back from the Muggle fencing it. Not as simple as it sounds, when you both hate each other
with a passion, and the Muggle starts falling for your straight partner, who
you need to help handle the Muggle Gay Scene. And what happens when you
start falling for him too? Interesting and intriguing. WIP
- Per Solum Lacuna:
By Words Alone by Wintermoon2 or
here A set of enchanted
journals bring solace to two very unlikely lost souls. Whoever said the art
of penmanship was lost? I consider this long, involved, intriguing and
beautiful story to be one of the classics of H/D fiction.
- Pixie Light and Pixie Dark by
Roses Auror Potter
discovers that Muggle technology is a very, very bad thing; of course, Auror
Malfoy knew this already. Fascinating story
-
Second Chances by
kishijoten. For the first time in
over a decade, Harry Potter crosses paths with Draco Malfoy. Both have
changed a great deal, but what do those changes mean to them - and to each
other? A Post Hogwarts story that allows Harry and Draco to slowly deal
with their past history and learn to like and then love each other. However,
there are complications in their path towards love, Draco's children and his
father.
- Secrets
by Vorabiza Beginning with Draco's unexpected arrival at the
Dursleys, Harry's summer becomes filled with activity and many secrets. He
generates several unexpected allies as he finds himself actively becoming
the leader of the Light side. I enjoyed this long, involved story. Harry
was written as very much in charge, yet still a teenager with a teen's
propensity for huge swings in emotions and massive self doubt. I was
particularly taken with the Draco presented and even found myself able to
cope with an heroic Snape. While Ron and Hermione are somewhat sidetracked,
their importance to Harry is never denied or negated and I
thoroughly enjoyed the twins involvement.
- Seven Days
in June by fourth rose The war is over. The dust has
settled; the survivors are moving on. The hero is finally allowed to go on
leave. Beautiful story heavily featuring the beauty and antiquity of
Vienna and developing an intriguing reunion and relationship between Harry
and the previously missing, assumed dead ,Draco Malfoy now a tour
guide!
-
Sin for
Me by furiosity Harry never expected the peace to last
forever. Dumbledore taught him better than that. He just didn't expect the
next war to begin less than a month after Voldemort died. Never would he
have dreamed that it would be a man's personal war against a system. The
wizarding world was that system, and Harry was that man. Intriguing, interesting and highly original story. Plus anyone that can
make use of Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics in a Harry Potter story has my
respect. *g*
- Snakes
and Ladders by Alvira. Sixteen years after he last clapped eyes on
the Boy Who Lived To Be A Thorn In Draco Malfoy's Side, Draco is filling
Snape's old shoes with aplomb. History, though, has a nasty habit of
repeating itself. Draco has his comfortable existance turned topsy-turvy
with the appearance at Hogwarts of Harry's son, who turns out to be able
disrupt Draco's life with as much competency as his father. I really
liked Wystan (Harry's son) and thoroughly enjoyed his encounters with Draco,
while the Harry/Draco episodes were wonderfully in character and full of so
much UST it was great. Highly enjoyable story with a great ending.
- Special Gifts by
oldenuf2nobetter Ten years
after a devastating accident costs Harry Potter the love of his life and
leaves him with life altering injuries, he is asked to return to Hogwarts to
help the child of an old friend, with the help of an old adversary. Very
intense interesting and enjoyable read with a very scary Hermione.
- Still Life
by Analin or
hereThe
portraits at Hogwarts always seemed happy. Harry wonders if he is the only
one with such an annoyance at being half there after his body has gone. He
doesn't want to still be thinking. He doesn't want to be sitting in his
chair, chin in hand, staring out at the crying visitors to the memorial,
wishing he were dead. Except he is already dead. A very clever,
intriguing and thought provoking read.
-
The
Argument by Flutesong or
here
The Argument wasn't about
how Harry Potter could have grown up to prefer intimate relationships with
other men. The Argument was, of course, because when Harry finally seemed to
settle in a relationship, it was with Draco Malfoy. I know of Flutesong
from the X-Files M/K fandom and love her work. This one is written in one of
her narrative styles with minimal dialogue, but she knows how to pace the
story to keep the interest going and I really enjoyed it.
-
The Copper Cauldron by Newshound. Draco thought his life
had ended after being imprisoned in Azkaban. It will take the love of the
man he regards as his greatest enemy, the faith of his most trusted
confidante, and the hope imparted by a beloved child to convince him that
his life has truly just begun. A long, involved, occasionally angsty
story that is a rather compelling read. Harry and Draco seem very in
character such that I want to hit Draco around the head at times. *g*
- The
Fine Line Between Then and Now by dragon charmer What if everything changed and
you didn't know how to make it right again? Beautiful story
- The Good
Guys by
Frayach ni Cuill or
hereThe Second Voldemort War is limping into its fourth
year, and the Forces of Shining Light are slowly turning into the Forces of
Expedient Grey. When Draco Malfoy is captured red-handed trying to sell an
illegal potion to a clerk at Borgin and Burkes, he is handed over to the
Department of Essential and Necessary Truth's newest interrogator. And as
soon as he sees Malfoy, bound and waiting in his cell, Harry Potter knows
he's in trouble. Deep trouble. Bloody brilliant and very, very clever.
- The Goodness of Their Hearts by Taratext,
Malfoy
Security Inc. is hired when Chudley Cannons' star Seeker Harry Potter starts
receiving disturbing letters. I read this for the second time recently
and was reminded what an very enjoyable read it is. Post Hogwarts of course,
seen from Draco's pov and rather intriguing.
- The Last
Dragon Thief by antyureff The war ended three years
ago, and the wizarding world snuggles into a post-Restoration era. London is
a cheery place again, except for Harry Potter. Among his peers, he's the
source of gossip and malapert speculation. Eager for an understanding of how
he became so antagonised, Harry accepts an offer from Draco Malfoy to
explore a macabre tie to the past. But Malfoy is more enigmatic than ever.
And Harry, along with Ron and Hermione, are tossed into a mystery that takes
them back to the days when Albus Dumbledore was a young man, into the Other
Worlds of the Northern Elves, and into the very core of Light and Dark
Magic. Fascinating and beautifully written WIP
- The Lodger
by Mad Martha. Harry takes in a lodger. This delightful story
takes it's time and tells us so much about both Harry and Draco as it does.
Martha has a prequel to The Lodger along with three post
Lodger ficlets. All are very much worth a read. Check in her Master List of
Stories and scroll down to The Lodger Series. The stories are
Caught Unprepared
(Harry/other),
The Lodger,
One Moment For
All Time, Things That Go Bump...,
Chipped Off The
Old Block
- The
Pendulum of Choice by Rushlight The future is not some place we
are going to, but one we are creating. Harry, from a defeated universe,
travels through parallel universes to find somewhere he can live again and
be of some use. This is not exclusively H/D, but a number of pairings as well
as none. The different realties Rushlight creates are very clever and
intriguing, the different Harrys all surprisingly similar in many respects.
- The Potter
Files by
nqdonne Private investigator, wizard,
thorn in many people's sides. Harry Potter's a jack of all trades. A
very enjoyable and clever mix of Harry Potter and The Dresden files with
Draco as Murphy and Snape as Bob!
- The Price We Pay For Wings by
frayach Books
have the power to shape young lives. At least that is the hope of the
anonymous author of a best-selling series about a Muggle boy and his best
friend on the eve of a world war. But stories do more than just shape the
future: they can redress the wrongs of the past as well. But only as long as
it's not too late. A heartbreaking, but oh so beautiful story.
- The Simple
Joy of Living by
mahaliem When Viktor is
attacked, Harry and Draco work together to find the culprit. An
absolutely wonderful story full of twists and turns and with a delightfully
manipulative and snarky Draco and a competent, but slightly oblivious Harry,
plus Narcissa and Lucius on fine form. A real pleasure to read.
-
The Venice Job by
nishizono Harry Potter was one of
the youngest Aurors in history. He was the Boy Who Lived, and the Boy Who
Lived Again. He loved Guinness and Quidditch, and hated pineapple. He wrote
letters to Hagrid every Thursday, and on Sundays, he visited Hermione and
Ron. Harry Potter was also not gay. Funny and highly enjoyable story.
- The Warlock
by MysticShadow. Harry met the fury in the ice-blue eyes of the
Warlock with defiance. He was Draco's prisoner, but his slave he'd never be.
Yet Harry could not know how Draco ached to posses his body - or that the
world's fate will rest on the strength of their bond. I'm enjoying this,
very slow to be updated, AU WIP. Draco is perfectly depicted in his icy calm
and power, while Harry is beautifully written and while lacking Draco's
knowledge and influence, is certainly not powerless, nor quiet in his
defiance and anger.
- The Waters of
March by Duinn Fionn. Voldemort's final victim
resides with the other spell-damaged wizards in St. Mungo's Hospital. Harry
suffers survivor's guilt and finds an unusual beta. Cream-colored knee-high
leather boots make a brief appearance. This is beautiful, the slow
development of the relationship between Harry and Draco is realistic and
delightful to read. It also has some wonderful moments of humour and a
nicely depicted Ron.
- The
World of the Living by fourth rose A traumatised war hero and
a convicted criminal under the roof of an eccentric journalist make for a
rather odd ensemble, but Luna has never had a problem with oddities as long
as they make sense. Superb story, with a beautifully characterised Luna.
-
That Veela Thing by
empathic siren Fluffy,
post-war H/D - that's all - and extra points for veela!boy too! Clever
and delightful fic.
- Therefore I Am by
Flutesong Lovely, gentle story about
Harry's struggle with his fame and the consequences, his relationship with
Draco along side fascinating Snape interludes and a wonderful ending.
- Things that seem
by Maeglin Yedi. or
as Starkiller A potion gone
wrong. A desperate wish. A new future. And a...horse? Harry's desperate thoughts
as he tries to come to terms with what is happening to him are often
very funny. An intriguing
'what if' story with a great ending. Well worth a read
- Tissue of
Silver by Fearless Diva, Draco Malfoy's life is
threatened and Auror Harry Potter is sent to protect him. Draco is presented
as a spy for the order, also he is a reformed, if not particularly liked or
trusted, Death Eater. His confidant is Snape, who is the only one to know
that Draco has the hots for Harry Potter, but first, he has to survive, and
make friends with Potter.

Under
the Ivy by Coffejunkie It is impressive how much you
can learn about someone by simply sharing a few rooms. They don't spend time
together, not really, but Harry still knows that Malfoy prefers raspberry
jam over strawberry, that he hums along to the Wireless when he thinks no
one is around, and that his leg is bothering him more than usual when the
temperatures drop below freezing. A beautifully written, heart-warming
story that shows Harry and Draco, both wounded and changed following the
war, learning to understand and love each other.
- Unlimited Partnership by
rickey a Divorce sucks even
if your gay and your marriage had the sole purpose of producing an heir. His
old plan in tatters, Draco begins to formulate a new plan. Harry Potter
becomes his partner and Draco is definitely, most definitely, not in love.
Well written and highly entertaining and original story.
- Volunteers
by Anna Fugazzi or
here Written for livejournal's Beltane Fic Exchange: Harry, Draco, and a
volunteer position that was supposed to be quick and easy. Beautiful
story interweaving a history of Beltane along with an awakening of Harry and
Draco's desire for each other. The sequel is
Ember to Ember
- Walking
the Line by Silent Auror. Sixth year is over and Draco
Malfoy is on the run. The war is on and an unwanted assignment is forced
upon him by the only people he trusts - and a one-time arch-enemy just may
be out to kill him. This is very well written and intriguing as we watch the
relationship change and evolve between Harry and Draco through Draco's eyes.
Alongside the beautifully detailed relationship is an exciting story of the
chase to destroy the horcruxes and finally beat Voldemort and it is a very
good and rewarding read.
- We are
Legend by Vaysh Eighty years into the future,
Voldemort won. Harry Potter is Portkeying persecuted Muggles out of London
to Hogwarts, when he encounters Draco Malfoy, a powerful phoenix Animagus
fighting on the Death Eaters' side. Stunningly beautiful story.
- We'll
always have Paris by Katherine. Time passes and things
change. Sometimes we just need to forgive and forget in order to move on.
A beautifully written, descriptive and evocative short story that left me
feeling wistful, but strangely content.
This Kiss
is the sequel.
- Welcome to the Real
World by IamtheLizardQueen. A Harry/Draco
romance, set post-Hogwart's in muggle London. Includes red mittens,
linoleum, witty retorts, angst, love, dance clubs, strange friends, cooking
shows, and coffee. This is a romance, but is beautifully written with a
great plot and a wonderful real beginning and superb descriptions of Draco
learning to cope in the muggle world.
-
When,
Not Yet,
Hold On,
Now
by zionsstarfish is an interesting study of Draco's insecurities,
pride, hopes and fears in a future where he and Harry are friendly, sort of.
