I've been reading a number of Harry or Draco as Veela and/or other magical creature (slash obviously) and I've found myself rather enjoying some of these stories, although many are extremely derivative. So here is a listing of all the H/D ones that I have found with comments, plus stories that I Recommend or think are a Good read. Most are WIPs, so I will note when a story is Complete. Stories where either one is a Vampire will be identified by a V. Stories where either one is a Werewolf will be identified by a W. Stories where either one has been turned into a cat/boy (Kitty!Harry) will be identified by a K. Stories where either one is an Elf will be identified by an E. Veela stories are not otherwise identified, but as they have become rather submerged within the listing I have identified them separately here. While Other Magical Creatures stories that don't fit into any other category are listed here. Veela Enigma by jennavere - A twist on the Veela theme: Draco is part veela, but as his ancestors concealed the truth about any non-purebloods in the family, he has no idea. Things get wild and crazy when he falls head over heels in love with Hogwart's resident boy wonder. Well worth reading. Complete and Recommended.
Gold Tinted Spectacles by Beren or (here) Harry's sixth year has come and gone, part of him has been alone because of everything he knows and everything he has seen. As his seventh year dawns he's looking for something and he's not sure what but he knows it's out there. Things start to look interesting when Draco Malfoy becomes involved. A long, involved and enjoyable love story with a strong plot and well constructed history. Complete and Recommended
Harry Potter and the Shiverin Descendent by Angel Lain or here During the summer between his fith and sixth year Harry finds out that he's not quite human. What exactly is a Shiverin, and what does Draco have to do with it. A variation on the Veela theme with both boys changed, plus a very OOC submissive Harry who, at 16, is excited at the thought of getting pregnant! Last update Aug 06
Enthrall by Yih - Draco's a veela that's been handed the tough task of seducing Harry Potter to the Dark Lord's side. Will Draco fall in love? Will Harry fall for Draco? And why does Voldemort want Harry? Features Seer!Harry .A very intriguing take. Harry isn't quite as unaware or defenceless as Draco assumes. Recommended. Last update June 06
V Harry Potter and the Alliance of Blood by Allika or here. Dumbledore has made an alliance, with Harry as the bargaining piece. The Daywalkers have risen again, and they brought their new Prince with them. A very promising read. Last update Match 05. Recommended
Draco Malfoy and the Union of Souls by ManEatingDustBunny - Draco keeps thinking about Harry Potter, and can't figure out why. When he finds out he's a veela, suddenly it all comes clear. Seen from Draco's pov. Quite interesting so far. Also on her live journal Last updated Jan 06
Veela Child, Moon Child by Twilight Goddess7 - Young Harry Potter was always different. He preferred reading over playing with other children. He had a strange talent for communicating with animals...and he always felt a strong pull towards one, Draco Malfoy. The problem? Draco is betrothed to someone Very AU with Harry portrayed as very in control and very dominant plus he has a completely different set of friends. Also mpreg. What is it with making teenage boys pregnant - and they not being horrified? Plus, with the number of years Wizards live for for what the hell is the point of rushing into having children anyway?
V What Dreams may Come by MagicalPen - Harry and Draco are having strange dreams about each other. What could these dreams possibly mean and what effect will they end up having on the two? Involves Vampires, Veelas, and Elves. A story within a story, and different and intriguing. Complete and a Good read The sequel is Death is only the beginning With a marriage fast approaching and a little girl on the way, Harry and Draco are the happiest they've ever been. But when they start dreaming about their past lives, Draco fears that history will repeat itself. If only he knew how right he was to worry.
How to Charm a Dragon by Skysha-Tranqui - A twist on an old tale. Harry is part-veela, but he isn't exactly comfortable with his new heritage. Complete. Very slow, long build up with some interesting twists along the way, but also a little confusing.
Icarus Rising by ryokoblue It's the final battle. Harry's on a warpath to find Voldemort, but what happens when he runs into an old school rival? Especially when said rival is no longer exactly... human? Complete plus Easter Egg, an extra 'epilogue'. This is well worth reading. Recommended.
Lost Without You by Cynara18 - When Draco discovers he's not really Lucius' son, he's truly a half-veela, he also finds out that in a few weeks, he'll attain his soul-mate. When he discovers his mate is Harry Potter, how will he react, and how does Harry feel? Angst, anger, denial and romance. Good read Last update March 05.
Light of Heaven by Draeconin - Harry and Draco's magic goes awry after an unusual bonding. Intelligent dragons get involved when the boys leave to learn another way of life, another kind of magic outside Hogwarts. An intriguing start that rather loses its way by the end, as the author himself acknowledges. Complete
Milk is my sugar by Michael Serpent - My Veela twist... HD. Harry does something very stupid and ends up protecting Malfoy from the lust-crazed fellow students. He also decides to help the ranting and paranoid Malfoy to find his mate. Warning: This story is completely crazy. Harry ends up being Draco's Keeper after destroying the drug that keeps Draco's allurement under control. A lovely original take with good characterisation. Unfortunately the story will never be completed due to the death of the author, unless his betas decide to continue, but is still very much worth reading. Recommended
Angels and Devils by Beren. Harry defeated Voldemort: his act of heroism is famous throughout the wizarding world. He's trying to finish his final year at Hogwarts in peace, but something peculiar is happening to him, something he never would have expected. It's all rather embarrassing and making his life very complicated. Excellent story seen from Harry's pov. Complete. Recommended
Black Truth by FlowerofBlackFire - And, with bated breath, Draco traced the silver line down one more step in the family tree. Draco Lucius Malfoy... the third full blooded Veriae in the Malfoy family... and future life mate of Harry Potter. Neither boy is rushing into anything easily. Good story, well written and worth reading - Recommended and Complete.
V Blood Debt by JenniferButterflyGirl - AU. The life of one for the life of another, such is the way of the vampire. Draco Malfoy, a powerful vampire, has come to collect the blood debt owed to him by Vernon Dursley. His nephew, Harry Potter, will be the one to pay the price. Interesting take on the vampire theme. Last update April 05
Whole by thelovenmutt - Draco's a Veela (and unaware of it) . He goes into his 1st heat. Short and Complete.
Magnetic Attraction by Frizzy or Draco Malfoy is a part Veela who has just come into his Veela Inheritance to discover that his mate is none other than Harry Potter. After accepting his fate and admitting that he does love Harry Potter - just a little - Draco must try to seduce his mate into bonding with him. The question is, will Harry fight against the bond forced upon him, or will he fall in love with the softer side to the boy he used to hate? (Warning - mpreg) A story that seems to have inspired a number of people, but appears to have been abandoned after 42 chapters. The author does state that the 25th chapter is the end of Part 1. Mate by Lady Vader - My own twist on the 'Draco's a Veela' cliché. Draco's a Veela and does NOT want Harry... or does he? Complete and worth a read particularly in the second half when Draco finds himself unable to deny his need. Good read
Not just another - "Oh no, Draco's a Veela!" story by Relle - Not your average "Draco is a Veela" story. Both parties are not impressed with Draco's Veela Side: Bob. None more so than Draco. Magnetic Attraction Parody... Quite clever and funny . Last update April 04.
Wind beneath my wings by Green Eyed Serpent - A week before the start of school, Malfoy's failed attempts at a certain potion containing sacred Veela blood turns his world Completely upside down. He can't tell anyone of this disaster and so is left to face going back to Hogwarts as if nothing is wrong... And to think he did this all for Potter... Worth checking out, but not updated since October 04
V Dark side of the Light by Dahlias114 - Draco receives his inheritance on his 17th and learns his Second Half is none other than Harry Potter who in turn receives his inheritance a month later as a (?) *cough*veela*cough*. Harry's a Veela, Draco's a vampire and guess who Draco's real father is...! Last update August 05
Deny thy Father by Indigo Kitti - On the eve of his seventeenth birthday Draco's mother tells him of her shrouded past and his real father. Now, desperate to find his mate before it's too late Draco must look in the most unlikely of places. Quite nicely paced, with a lot of Narcissa. Last update Oct 05
The Veela Allurement by Illucia - During the summer, before their last year in school starts, Draco Malfoy's Veela heritage is awoken. He's searching his mate and that leads him to the most unsuspected target. A hard and difficult one too. Interesting read that takes its time to develop. Edited in Jan 05
Decorous Draco by Arwen Applestone - Draco's a male Veela. And Harry's going crazy over him. Complete and well worth a read. Recommended
Ultionis Diem by NayNymic - Draco is a Veela with a very...interesting...choice of mate. VERY OOC!!!!!!!!! A comedy as well as a romance. Last update Jan 05.
V Light in the Shadows or here by A Brighter Dawn - In another universe, where Harry Potter never existed, things are getting desperate. Voldemort rules all with Lucius at his right hand and Draco as his dark heir. Those who would rebel against him have been placed in the Shadow Camps. A last group of radicals desperately seek the help of one who can defeat the Dark Lord. They use a long forgotten ritual to bring them someone with the power to destroy this evil... Harry Potter never can get a break. A very interesting and enjoyable read. Recommended
Wind Rider by SuishouTenshi or here. Harry's heart stops beating before the night of his 16th birthday, but he wakes up 25 days later with a new addition. Draco is being tickled into insanity by a blazing desire, and who but Harry can save him? Both boys are changed in this story and both fight their 'destiny' tooth and nail. This is an interesting and well written story. Last update Sept 06 Good read
V Last Enchantment by Shamera or here- AU. A "faerie" tale with elves, vampires, and reincarnation. Draco's a transfer student who arrives at Hogwarts during Harry's seventh year, trying to fulfill a promise made nearly a hundred years ago. But what is this promise and does it have to do with Harry? An intriguing read. Last update Jan 05
V Blood Fest by Duchess of Darkness - Harry is not a stranger to the dark or all that lives in its depths. But when he meets a creature like none other, things change for him. And, he says, it's all Ron's fault. Him and his stupid idea to go to a club. AU where Draco's a vampire and has his eyes on the human Harry Potter. Last update Oct 04
Spirit of the Veela by Roslyn Drycof - Harry's family tree is more complicated than he thought. When his 17th birthday brings some changes, the only person he can go to is Draco Malfoy, a part-Veela by relation to the Blacks, the only wizarding Veela family. But Harry's not a Black, is he? Not sure where this is going, but the writing is good so far.
Veela Blood by tiggerjojo - Harry experiences some changes over the summer, leaving him into a dominate veela, searching for a submissive mate or here with this summary. Harry is captured and given a deadly, illegal potion that infuses his DNA with veela DNA, permanently. His search for a mate leads him to Draco whom he marks and takes as his mate for life. If you like dom Harry, bottom Draco this is for you. Complete. The sequel is Veela Heart this picks off shortly after Blood ended and follows Harry and Draco's continueing fight to remain together. Harry will do anything to make sure Draco comes to no harm even if that means removing himself from Draco's life.
The Monster by Natt. Harry learns that he is the offspring of a dementor and veela. This highly affects his relationships with his friends and lover. Very intriguing story about how we perceive ourselves. Complete. Good read.
V They mated by Freakgirl - A part-vampire and part-Veela try and resist the call of their mate. Draco as Veela and Harry as Vampire. Short and Complete..
Learning to Love a Veela by Minerva Draco is part Veela, and has chosen his mate. Complete, and the sequel is What he's always needed - Harry's Pregnant by his part-Veela mate Draco, lets see how they get through it!!! Complete and both are very 'sugary'

Oh. My. Gods or A Veela! Harry Valentine by indigo kitti Harry is a Veela and so is Draco Malfoy, but they're not mates. Nope, nope... waaaaaait... (Total crack fic). Short, funny and enjoyable. Complete. Good read.
Loathed Love by Kimi Sama - Draco is a veela. Harry is his mate. Draco's really resisting this one folks! And Voldemorts determined to ruin the year. Fun, and slowly being updated - March 05.
The Life and Times of a Veela Mate by Crazer57 - Harry just learned that he's a Veela.....and who's his mate? Very much consists of just dialogue and at times it is difficult to work out who is saying what. Last update Jan 05

The whole school seems to want him but he has eyes only for one...problem is, that one person despises him. My Veela Angel by Slytherin Snakes My first veela fic, enjoy and please review HD slash and a sad ending. Complete and the sequel is To Love Again Draco must teach Harry to love again after the spell Dumbledore gave him to bring Harry back to life rendered him unable to remember anything about his relationship with Draco. Complete. Two very rushed stories.
Broken by Sapphrine Draco Malfoy is a half-veela. But not just any half-veela, he is one with the strangest of mates; Harry Potter. This secret must be kept hidden. So what will happen when the two boys find themselves lost, with no means of survival except for themselves? Not updated for a long time and the author now says she has a huge writer's block, and is unlikely to ever finish Pity, as it had potential.

As the clock chimed 12, a bone-chilling scream echoed through the manor. Very short chapters. Last Update March 05
V Blood of the Lion by silver ariel (formerly AprilLily). Draco has been turned into a vampire by Voldemort and Harry has to help him deal with it. Complete and a sequel is promised. Interesting plot and story. I enjoyed the Harry/Draco relationship, but I'd like to have explored Draco's anger and anguish further. A sequel is promised. Good read
E Smells like a Teen Spirit by babycurlz. Draco's a rare blood- half veela, half elf. And Harry's his mate. Now all Draco has to do is seduce Harry. Right? Well... It's not that simple after all, as Draco soon finds out. Interesting, although the description of Draco's charms and powers seems rather excessive! Updated Jan 07
Intuition by Sapphrine. It is soon Draco Malfoy's sixteenth birthday, where he will mature, and will recieve his Veela charms! By choosing a mate, he will not only become happy, but will save his own life as well. The problem? His mate is none other than Harry Potter! Interesting, like her other Veela story, Broken, but, again, the author has lost interest, but claims she may update one day.
A Song Unsung by Serenitas Harry's not as golden as people think, but Draco's just as hateful. Harry is condemned as a dark wizard and the Slytherins revel in his fall from grace. They decide to show him what being a dark wizard truly means. Draco's the Veela here. Harry is totally OOC and highly nasty. Draco is a bastard, and it would be fair to say that I found the whole tone of the story so unremittingly unpleasant that I gave up less than half way through. Last update Aug 04
V Our Tree by Draco. While getting a tattoo, Draco plays back the days of his life with Harry. (grab tissue now). Complete. The tissue warning is worth noting. *g* This was written for Vamp!Draco challenge, and is a very good read. Recommended

Malfoy by Kirei GothicPoet3. What happens when a person from Draco's past comes to Hogwarts? And since when is he a veela? What's this about him and Harry Potter? Will things get heated? And Harry's not the only one to get a little hot, Ron's there, too. A story that introduces an original character, Nuccius, as Draco's cousin, and gets highly confusing as it progresses. The author also keeps repeating herself and using words incorrectly which is as annoying as hell! Last update Aug 06

V Finding Faith by White Rose3. Draco has found out that his powers are coming into play and are going to have a huge effect on him in his 7th year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry Potter, during the same summer, was bitten and turned into a vampire, he's learning how to deal with the change, but still has problems controlling his powers which have doubled. Will Harry and Draco find each other's love in time to save one another and the Wizarding world from Voldemort? This is very poorly formatted in the first few chapters and has song verse liberally sprinkled throughout, , but does improve as it continues.
When Veela's Collide by Angel Wings6. When Draco's Veela blood is awakened and it seems Harry is his mate, things look grim! But then he discovers a secret about Harry that could just be the answer he needs! Interesting so far, and a little different.
Ice Prince Lions Pride by Angel Wings6. Draco's obsessed with bringing Harry Potter down for the demise of his family, but once he gets the golden boy within his grasp things change in a way he never expected! Exactly what is a Dark Veela and why does Harry's scent seem familiar? Different and intriguing, but has not been updated since March 04
So You Want to be A Veela by Ravenight, I've decided that there just aren't enough veela Draco stories out there. So Draco is a veela. Harry is his mate, but doesn't want to be. Interesting, with Draco plotting furiously. Last update April 04
Kingdom Come by PeachDancer32. (A post-war, Fizzy veela fic) Prince Draconis Malfoy, a Veela from the Kingdom of Velciara, has come into his inheritance and must find his mate. Little does he know his chosen has been destined since the beginning of time and written in the stars lies the fate of his Kingdom. Nice, slow build up, but not been updated since April 04
V Harry Potter and the Love of a Veela by Tiger Heart. Tension mounds as Harry's sixth year approaches. An unknown inheritance reveals itself, and a little bit of love comes into the picture. Speaking of which, what's up with Draco's behavior? Slash, Vampire-Harry and Veela-Draco. A good start with the potential for a lot of fighting and angst between Harry and Draco, but incredibly slow at being updated.
All About Nothing by beserkergoddess. Harry's hormonal, Draco's a Veela, Hermione and Seamus have an idea, Voldemort's a loony and Ron, is just Ron. What will happen! A rather hurried and somewhat implausible beginning with somewhat a OOC Draco and Harry as well as being rather 'mushy'! Complete
A Game for Fools by TextBookDreams. Harry finds out about Draco's secret obsession with him, and is set on teasing the Slytherin to hell and back about it. But he doesn't know just how much it really hurts Draco knowing that the only one he's ever loved doesn't return his affections. But then, Harry makes yet another discovery about himself. He's not really human! Quite interesting story although both Draco and Harry appear rather out of character. Complete The sequel is A Game for Fools 2
Shards of Silver by Luana Araceli. The summer before Harry's 6th year at Hogwarts, he learns a few interesting things about his species. Hecatemus, Veela, and an All-Elemental, how will he cope when he finds out that none other than Draco Malfoy is destined to be his mate? Very similar to many other Veela stories at present. Harry Potter and the Incidental Plot by lovelyloey, A cliche veela fic! Readers have fun spotting the cliche plot elements! Overused plot but unique elaboration! HPDM slash n mpreg. There are certainly clichés, and unfortunately that's all there appears to be. Complete
The Kindly Ones by Phorcys or here. Harry and Draco hide their families bloodlines. Now Voldemort seeks Harry for a whole new reason. And what is Hogwart's hiding? Has been edited and rewritten, and makes more sense now.
E Eternal Struggle by The Art Disarray. When Harry meets a very abused Draco Malfoy on the Knight Bus, Draco tells Harry he has no place to go until school starts.Harry lets him stay, but on one condition. Draco has to help Harry kill Voldemort. Elven!Draco,Veela!Harry. Develops a good relationship between Harry and Draco. Last update April 05
Pandora's Box by Dented Sky. (or here with extra side stories) Draco isn't just a Veela looking for his mate - he's a singer following his dreams. Pansy plays the perfect fag-hag, but she's getting distracted by a certain red-head. DracoxHarry slash, PansyxRon, and others. Very different so far. Last update Match 05
The Depths of Winter by Cosmic. Four years after getting out of Hogwarts, Harry lives alone in the Muggle world. He has turned his back on the magical world - until one day, when Draco Malfoy gets into a car crash before Harry's eyes and ends up paralysed in a wheelchair. The fact that Draco is a part Veela is a very small, but important, part of this long and angsty story. Complete. Good read
Corruption by Beren. Voldemort has captured Harry and for his own twisted reasons has chosen not to kill him outright. Revenge in the Dark Lord's mind requires a fate worse than death and Harry is about to find out what that is. Complete. Harry is corrupted with the essence of a number of dark creatures. This is a very good story as are the two sequels and is well worth reading. Recommended. Carvedwood has written an authorised companion piece Draco's Story: Corruption and it is both well written and similar in style to Beren's original story. Recommended
Chimera Luck by Kalisin or here. To Harry, this year was just turning out as strange as the last. unfortunantely, he didn't realize how strange. Both Harry and Draco are changed into chimeras, creatures of immense power. The story is quite interesting, but Harry and Draco fall into each others arms a little too quickly. Complete
Of Veela and Vampires by Nachtwoelfin. Draco has come into his inheritance. He searches for his mate and finally finds him, Harry Potter. The golden boy himself has more than one secret. He accepts Draco as his mate but to where does this lead? I found it frustrating to read as the author makes numerous spelling mistakes and has a tendency to use words incorrectly and often inappropriately, plus Harry is OCC and very submissive. V Lamia by twigletmoo Draco has a secret, a secret that's been in his family for centuries, and now he wants Harry... Interesting so far, but has been abandoned. Last updated Nov 05.
V A Vampire's Love by Beren. Voldemort is dead, but he almost took The Boy Who Lived with him. Draco Malfoy has been assumed dead by the wizarding world for almost four years having been taken by a vampire, although Harry had always known where to find him, but this time Draco has found Harry. Another enjoyable and well written story by Beren. Complete and Recommended
Veelain Love by Angel's Falling. Two students at Hogwarts happen to be half-veela and their names are none other than Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter. What happens when the two rivals go to school and find that almost the whole entire school is lusting after them? Who knows? Somewhat derivative, and has not been updated since Nov 03
V The Three of Prophecy by Angel's Falling, Being biten by a Vampire was not what Harry, Hermione, and Draco planned on. But, when a new prophecy arises. They must re-think about who really is the enemy. Different and could be worth watching. On second thoughts, we've now got a short, feminine looking Draco who's the epitome of male beauty, and a taller handsome Harry. Guess we're being set up for a Top Harry, Bottom Draco fic! Sighs with disappointment at this constant need for writers to define a male/male relationship in stereotypical female/male terms. Last update June 05
Happenstance by Ciceronian. Everything that Harry had been told has been a lie, his entire foundation that he set his life on crumbles from beneath him, opening up to a world he never believed could exist. Intriguing! Last update July 05
Fantasy Abound by Morgan Eddasil. Four years after graduation, a reunion is called. The graduates of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizadry flock back. A lost man is found, and an unpredicted relationship formed . Two very short chapters then the story beings to take off. Draco is a Veela, both boys/men are described in loving detail and Harry's occupation seems rather OOC! Last update Jan 05
If only to feel by Jadestonedreams. Changes are taking place that will send Draco and Harry's life on a whirlwind path destined together. Harry is a veela searching for his mate. Will the secrets that Draco hides, keep Harry from claiming his true love? Some angst, lust , misunderstanding and anger between the boys and a somewhat implausible subplot involving Draco and Voldemort. Indago by LdDurham A missed potion reveals a secret about Draco and Snape. They are part of a rare species and they have sniffed out Harry as one of their own. Can Harry stand up to the two violent, animalistic, and sexually charged Slytherins? I'm not fond of D/s stories and found Harry's extreme submissiveness (innate), to a well characterised bastard Draco, and, a trying to be in control of his aggression and anger, Snape, downright uncomfortable to read, particularly at the beginning. This is, however, well written and does show Harry's internal angst and subdued anger at the unfairness of the situation he find himself stuck in, plus as it progresses it evolves into a love story that somehow manages to keep pretty well in character for both Harry and Draco. Certainly worth a read, especially for the later chapters. Complete. Good read, despite my reservations. Indago Reborn is the sequel, another well written, but slightly uncomfortable read with mpreg thrown in to the mix. Complete. Indago 3 continues the story and introduces us to Harry and Draco's children.

If this is a pro Draco I'd hate to read an anti Draco story. *g* Draco is his nasty, mean, spiteful, bigoted little self here, the HP story has just been rewritten and twisted in Draco's favour and we're invited to approve and go along with him and the 'wronged and maligned' Slytherins and hate the 'deceitful, self righteous, hypocritical' Gryffindors and Dumbledore. Harry seems to be pretty much in character and the story is well plotted and conceived with a lot of back history and information on purebloods. However, I have to say that the sheer manipulation of the 'facts' to fit up the Gryffindors and exonerate vicious vindictive bastards such as the Malfoys and Snape does get a little wearying and annoying. I also have to say that I found Blaise and his oozing possessive love all over his 'cherub' Neville (yes, that Neville) rather nauseating, but this story is certainly worth a read. Good read

Mpreg, rather OCC for both Harry and Draco, evil Ron and Ginny, and otherwise somewhat too saccharine for my tastes, but Complete, and a sequel Hybrid Legacy Four years after he defeated Voldemort, Harry starts receiving letters from old enemies. Now he must try to keep his family safe while apprehending the villains. Complete. Somewhat too sugary for my tastes.
Love and Betrayal by feanor. Harry Potter has had many things in his life sacrificed by Albus Dumbledore for the greater good but what happens when Harry accidentally finds out that what Dumbledore is planing for Harry to sacrifice next. Harry draws his line in the sand. This far and no further! Harry versus Dumbledore! This has a H/G (among other het pairings) and H/D is promised, but we'll not know the final outcome until the end. This is interesting, but all of the characters are rather unsympathetic. Snape is even more foul than usual, Dumbledore is manipulative beyond measure, Draco wants to take, whatever the cost, and Harry is too knowledgeable, too clever, too manipulative and rather too cold. But what happens when Harry Potter whispers Draco Malfoy's name in his soulless state, after eight years without a reaction to anything? Certainly different and intriguing, but has a tendency to jump around all over the place introducing new characters and side plots which can make for rather confusing reading. However, Harry seemed somewhat OOC and a little too nonchalant about his 'change' and a little too in control - I'm rather fond of the Harry who kind of staggers from one mishap to another - so I feel somewhat distanced from him. It also finishes somewhat abruptly. Complete

This sort of fits in here, Harry is definitely very powerful and more than human. It's only when his powerful facade cracks a little that I get any feel of the Harry Potter of the books. Complete
