I fell for Ray Doyle (the curly haired one) when I first saw the series, I even had a large poster of him on my wall jostling for room with Queen, The Police, Alice Cooper, The Stranglers ... I wish I remember what I did with it. My enthusiasm for The Professionals was revived when I came across fan fiction, and soon I fell yet again for the fascinating Doyle, and renewed my acquaintance with William Andrew Philip - just call me Bodie - of the killer smile, and the dour George Cowley.  I have recently purchased the four seasons worth of DVD's and have had a ball reacquainting myself with 1980's Britain. While the technology might be very dated - no mobile phones for our heroes, but large cumbersome R/Ts - the sexism blatant, the violence ever present yet never cartoon like and the police cars make me laugh; the story telling, the acting, the humour and the camaraderie between Bodie and Doyle, and the sharp tongued Cowley as well, is sublime. This is Starsky and Hutch British style with a BITE. If I am honest, I'm not too sure that I approve at all of anything like CI5. For a start consider its powers, and be thankful that someone with the integrity of George Cowley is at the helm. I also doubt that I would like Doyle or Bodie as real people, although one of the reasons Ray Doyle  has always been my favourite is that he thinks deeply about what he does and is often very uncertain and unsettled about what he is  asked to do. He was a policeman (drugs squad), he paints, he started a sports club for 'black kids', he has been seen to cry and he is the one who 'cares'. Bodie by contrast has a somewhat less conventional career, having been a bouncer, gun runner, mercenary and finally a sergeant in the paras seconded to the SAS! He's more happy go lucky than Doyle, less troubled by what they do, less introspective and far more callous - except when it comes to his partner! Bodie and Doyle complement each other, work well together and they care about each other. If you want specific proof just check out these episodes; Hunter/Hunted, Involvement, Mixed Doubles, Stakeout, When the heat cools off, for a start and enjoy yourself.

All the stories below are slash and were written for adults.

Double Indemnity

Genre: Drama, Action/Adventure, AU ish! Slash, B/D First time. 197K

Bodie and Doyle unexpectedly find themselves repeating a mission with worrying consequences for themselves and others. February 04

My grateful thanks to Stacey who was the first to read it, liked it and made a few corrections and lots of positive comments, and very grateful thanks and much appreciation to 'Sally', who pointed out some rather large discrepancies in the first half, insisted I worked on it a bit more and then edited the story word by word. She also accused me of watching too much Stargate. :-) Personally I think that's impossible, who could get too much of Daniel? Certainly not me. This is my first Pros story and I enjoyed writing it. Bodie and Doyle are a fun pair to work with.

Smokescreen (can also be read here)

Genre: Drama, Action/Adventure. Slash B/D First Time

Summary: Given an unexpected, albeit somewhat risky, opportunity, Bodie takes it and runs. July 06

This was written for the [info]summer_of_78. My prompt was: action/adventure, mission, undercover (but not as a gay couple), first time Bodie with his hands bound/pinned behind his back (consensual, though), rimming, voyeurism, handjobs, sex in semi-public place, Bodie and Doyle separated for some reason (missions in distant places, schedules that don't mesh, whatever) but manage to come together anyhow . So this is for snarkyllama, who kindly told me she'd enjoyed it and that I'd included another kink of hers. *g* Many thanks to BrenK for the 'quick and dirty' and very speedy edit! I am very grateful.
