A rather different, amusing and somewhat tongue in cheek take on the magical creatures fic with a delightfully mouthy and fiery Harry and a rather smug, infuriating and calm Draco. The ending is highly enjoyable demonstration of Harry at his 'Slytherin' best. *g*. Complete

# V Among The Untrodden Ways by gypso_nano Written for The Free Range Vampfic Challenge on hpvamp Draco, realising that the "winning side" is more likely to be Harry's rather than Voldemort's, pledges his fealty to Harry on bended knee. Unexpectedly, Harry turns out to be a vampire, and takes Draco as his donor and pet. D/s (with Harry on top, naturally) that starts out business-like and turns into a caring relationship, even if one or both hate to admit that he's/they're in love. Long, intriguing, highly original story and very well written. Last update Jan 06
Assalto di Gioia by auroraprimavera When a mystery unfolds and Aurors are sent to investigate, Harry Potter finds himself in the middle of the unexpected. Someone he has tried to forget from his past is pushed back into his world and he suddenly finds everything changing. What happens when he learns the truth of the mystery and gives in to the truth of his own heart? Very enjoyable and well written post epilogue story with no Ginny bashing, which is a big plus point in its favour, and lovely characterisations of an older Draco, Harry and his friends. Complete.
W A Time of Miracles by enchanted jae Draco has requested a miracle for Christmas, and Harry will need a miracle if he is to deliver. Intense, angsty and well written. Complete
# V A Vampire's Love by Beren. Voldemort is dead, but he almost took The Boy Who Lived with him. Draco Malfoy has been assumed dead by the wizarding world for almost four years having been taken by a vampire, although Harry had always known where to find him, but this time Draco has found Harry. Another enjoyable and well written story by Beren. Complete.
# A Years Temptation by Lomonaaeren or here Draco isn't best pleased to discover he's a Veela at twenty-four especially since both he and his mate, Harry Potter, are married. Harry suggests a compromise that may work, if everyone agrees. But the compromise is fragile, and stands a distinct chance of only making everything worse than before. A highly original and intriguing take on the Veela cliché Complete

# Angels and Devils by Beren. Harry defeated Voldemort: his act of heroism is famous throughout the wizarding world. He's trying to finish his final year at Hogwarts in peace, but something peculiar is happening to him, something he never would have expected. It's all rather embarrassing and making his life very complicated. Excellent story seen from Harry's pov. Complete
# At Childhood's End by mahoganyhandle When Harry comes across a fallen branch of an elder tree and accidentally bonds with it, his life changes beyond his wildest imaginings. Absolutely fascinating and highly original story. Complete

W Bad Blood by calanthe Draco Malfoy is not the man he used to be. In fact he barely feels human at all. (you need to friend calenthe_fanfic journal to read) This is very raw, wild, bloody and absolutely fascinating. Complete
Bargain Benefits by harrypotterismylife Harry doesn't know what to think when Malfoy approaches him with an interesting trade-off. Very interesting and original story with Draco driving a very hard bargain. *g* Complete

With Draco by my side, we will be much stronger and the Light will conquer Voldemort and his minions." ~ Harry James 'FyrToehhers' Potter to Albus Dumbledore ~ This is an interesting and different story, with a very powerful and somewhat OOC Harry and Draco, good use and involvement of both their friends, and the most original (can one say totally OOC) portrayal of Dudley I've ever read. # V Black Magic by Moonlight by Beren. Harry Potter could find trouble in paradise and when Draco sends him to St Louis for a holiday it's not paradise and there's lots of trouble. With dark magic, vampires, lycanthropes and more, who else could sort it out but Anita Blake? This is an Anita Blake xover, a universe I know nothing about so I'm often at a complete loss as to what the hell is going on, but this is Beren, so I therefore expected good things and was not disappointed. *g* Complete
# Black Truth by FlowerofBlackFire - And, with bated breath, Draco traced the silver line down one more step in the family tree. Draco Lucius Malfoy... the third full blooded Veriae in the Malfoy family... and future life mate of Harry Potter. Neither boy is rushing into anything easily. Good story, well written and worth reading. Complete.
V Bloodlinked by Abremaline and here. Veela (Vampire?) Draco. Probably one of my strangest pieces yet. I have no explanation for this at all. I could blame that on the alcohol, but seriously, I don't think I'd have a summary for this one even if I were sober. Different, Complete
V Blood of the Lion by silver ariel (formerly AprilLily). Draco has been turned into a vampire by Voldemort and Harry has to help him deal with it. Complete and a sequel is promised. Interesting plot and story. I enjoyed the Harry/Draco relationship, but I'd like to have explored Draco's anger and anguish further. A sequel is promised.
V Blood, sex and death by Enchanted jae A rogue vampire is terrorizing the tiny village of Stonebridge, and it's up to the Ministry's best Aurors to put an end to the gruesome killings. A very interesting and clever story written for Halloween. Do read the warnings. Complete
V Blood Ties by Beren. Draco has a mission from Voldemort to finally kill The Boy Who Lived. He has been subject to Voldemort's ministrations to make sure he does not fail, but nothing is ever certain when Harry Potter is involved. An interesting take on the vampire theme and well written Complete.
Burn to Shine by Page Russet Harry Potter is the wizarding world's hero. But when Voldemort discovers a dark magic that could turn his greatest threat into a valuable asset, will Harry be able to hold onto who he is, or submit to the shadows within? Original and well written.
# Care to Explain by Closet Skeleton. It all started the morning Harry woke up and discovered that every last stitch of his clothing was gone. A very funny and original take on the Draco as Veela theme. Complete.
K Cat Amongst the Pigwidgeons by Ghyste. Draco receives some unsettling news about his heritage and... oh, you know the rest! Short, funny. Complete.
Changeling by Draeconin. Harry's a changeling. Short, funny. Complete.
# V Clearly an Idiot by Draco. Two Aurors tracking a murderer are running out of time. The little information they have managed to scrape together has lead them to a shady Goth club, and a former enemy. Written for The Free Range Vampfic Challenge, this is written in first person with the narrator observing and commenting on the interaction between Harry and Draco. It makes for fascinating and 'hot' reading and to the pleasure of many, the initial one off became a superb and highly enjoyable four part story. Complete
E Constellatio by Banjodog. Draco is an elf, but is it genetics, or perhaps...an illness? Together with his bonded Harry, they will race against time to fix a deep corruption in the magical world. Now this is both original and well written, a real pleasure, but unfortunately at present there is only one chapter. Last update May 05.
# Corruption by Beren. Voldemort has captured Harry and for his own twisted reasons has chosen not to kill him outright. Revenge in the Dark Lord's mind requires a fate worse than death and Harry is about to find out what that is. Complete. Harry is corrupted with the essence of a number of dark creatures. This is a very good story as are the two sequels and is well worth reading. Carvedwood has written an authorised companion piece # Draco's Story: Corruption and it is both well written and similar in style to Beren's original story.
Danger Zone by lunadragon After finally defeating Voldemort, Harry doesn't know what else to do with his life. Just as things are starting to settle down, someone he thought was gone forever returns, carrying a whole other burden with him. Interesting and original. Complete
# W Days Go By by corvidae9 After a grievous miscommunication that leads to five years apart, Harry has difficulty keeping his life together in the face of Draco's revenge tactics. The fact that he manages to succeed only makes Draco more intent. (Veela!Draco/Werewolf!Harry) Well written, clever and darkly humorous story. Complete.
# Decorous Draco by Arwen Applestone - Draco's a male Veela. And Harry's going crazy over him. Complete and well worth a read.
V Draco Malfoy and the Secret Underground Vampire Bureacracy by lomonaaeren In which there is an obsessed Potter, conspiracy theories, bonds, hormones, far too much self-help, and, of course, a secret underground vampire bureaucracy. None of which is as important as the fact that this is not Draco Malfoy's fault. Very original and enjoyable read, I loved the bureaucracy and Harry's attitude towards it as he was helping Draco was highly amusing. Complete
Drop Dead Gorgeous by Maya Harry (Veela) and Draco as Aurors. A well written and funny crack fic, with lovely characterised Harry and Draco, but it is also very angsty at times. Draco in love with a woman is surprisingly sweet, but so not what I want to read particularly when poor Harry is so despairing and sad! (NB: Maya will be taking down all her fan fiction by Sept 08 as she will then be a published author, but all her fiction will be available in pdf format to download before then)).
# E Drow by drusillas rain. The war was winding down. In fact, as far as Harry was concerned it was over. He had done his duty, the side of the light prevailed, and now he was comfortably settling into his new life, on a plot of land in the countryside. Well written and with a promise of regular postings to look forward to. She has now decided to make it into a series. Part 1 and 2 of The Drow Chronicles is Complete.
Encore by Maayan and here. As if its only purpose was to make Harry drown, the sound poured into all of his senses, enveloping him completely. Intriguing and original one shot. Complete
V End of Days by albydarned Draco doesn't need anybody, because he has his ghosts. Draco doesn't need life, because all he wants is oblivion. Draco doesn't need Harry Potter, except that he does, and always has. An intriguing, well written story Complete
# Enthrall by Yih - Draco's a veela that's been handed the tough task of seducing Harry Potter to the Dark Lord's side. Will Draco fall in love? Will Harry fall for Draco? And why does Voldemort want Harry? Features Seer!Harry .A very intriguing take. Harry isn't quite as unaware or defenceless as Draco assumes.
V Eternity with You by winnett.. One moment with Harry was worth more than an eternity alone. I really enjoyed this story. Complete
Fallen Flying by arca Harry leads a boring life, Draco has too much on his hands. Together they may find the balance they lack. Interesting and original one shot. Complete.
V Falling by KakoimonoMiyu. While wandering the halls one night, Harry overhears the professors speaking privately and finds out a student has been turned by a vampire. E Fire Within The Man by Maab Conner. On Harry Potter's 17th birthday he comes into his inheritance, and more than he ever bargained for. Well written and interesting.
V Flames and Chains by hecticity Harry has defeated Voldemort, but the Dark Lord has a few more tricks up his sleeve even in death. The forest in which the last battle is fought erupts into flames not long after Voldemort's body hits the ground, and Harry runs for his life. But no sooner than he has escaped the fire, he is captured by his old rival, Draco Malfoy... Well written, intriguing with a very original start and a very different, albeit inevitable, ending. Complete.
V Found Wanting by Liz. Challenging everything you thought you knew about vampires. Complete. Angsty and rather good.
Gay Aurors by charlottesometimes Episodic crackfic: Draco Malfoy mysteriously returns to London a badass and is partnered up with a very grumpy and very gay Harry Potter. This is very funny at times, well written and highly enjoyable. You'll see why it's included here as you read it. *g* Complete
# Gold Tinted Spectacles by Beren Harry's sixth year has come and gone, part of him has been alone because of everything he knows and everything he has seen. As his seventh year dawns he's looking for something and he's not sure what but he knows it's out there. Things start to look interesting when Draco Malfoy becomes involved. A long, involved and enjoyable love story with a strong plot and well constructed history. Complete
W Guarding The Dragon by Copper Vixen The Red Lions of Hogwarts Mercenaries and Guards are hired to escort Draco Malfoy and his companions from Hogsmeade to Diagon Alley. Well written and interesting AU. Complete.
# V Harry Potter and the Alliance of Blood by Allika or here. Dumbledore has made an alliance, with Harry as the bargaining piece. The Daywalkers have risen again, and they brought their new Prince with them. A very promising read Last update Match 05.
# V Harry Potter and the Inconvenient Condition by Mirabella Harry comes back from vacation with an inconvenient case of vampirism and must learn to cope with blood, Malfoy and recalcitrant secretaries. Highly amusing crackfic. Complete
W Having a Bad Day by msmindfunk Harry's life has devolved into a series of bad days, and then he gets tapped to take on a difficult case. When it brings Draco back into his life, will that make everything worse? Will Harry be able to solve his case, or turn his life around? Well written and enjoyable story with an engaging first person (Harry's) pov. Complete
V Hiding by Dracavia Harry is tired of all the attention he's receiving in the wizarding world now that Voldemort is dead. With that in mind he starts going to a muggle dance club, only to run into the person he least expected to ever see again. Intriguing, well written. Complete
High Priced by dyson rules or here Dumbledore's portrait exposes yet another secret complication that will screw up Harry's life. He's really getting tired of those. Beautifully written, often funny story with a totally bastard Draco and an angry confused Harry. A delightful twist on the usual Veela tale. Complete The sequel is High Priced - Malfoy Edition with the same events as seen from Draco's pov. While interesting, I got very irritated by the constant use of epithets for Harry (Auror, Gryffindor etc.) when a simple Harry, he, his, him etc would have been so less awkward. Complete
K Hiss me, Harry by LdDurham or here. Harry is turned into a catboy. Draco likes cats. Harry gains a cat's tail, ears and instincts. Draco takes advantage. LdDurham is one of the few authors who writes mpreg and sub!Harry that doesn't make me want to scream. Mainly because her Harry remains very male and his brave, if not reckless, Gryffindor self, while her Draco is his usual arrogant, superior self who wants to be in control, yet normally only manages to be so when Harry permits him. *g* This is a fun read. Complete
Holy Water by Amazonia It's been a grueling half a year for Harry and Draco. But will they pass their latest test? Or will it have dire, quite permanent, consequences. Fascinating short story. I'd really like to read more. Complete
Honesty is the best policy by Beren Draco has family heritage to deal with and an obsession who is completely immune to his advances. He's about ready to try anything, even honesty Lovely story about a powerful, but someone naive Harry as wooed and viewed through Draco's eyes. Complete
V Honor the Sacrifice by nemkess Living is hard enough, sometimes... Short, somewhat angsty story that is very well summarised by the title. Complete
I, Ferret by Curiouslyfic Draco's embraced his inner Ferret. Now it's Harry's turn. Starring Veela!Draco, mpreg, an old wives' tale, and a Weddiwizard. Creative, enjoyable and amusing. Complete
W I wish I was the Moon by gafna After Snape kills Dumbledore, Voldemort gives Draco to Fenrir Greyback. Interesting start with a lot of potential.
# Icarus Rising by ryokoblue It's the final battle. Harry's on a warpath to find Voldemort, but what happens when he runs into an old school rival? Especially when said rival is no longer exactly... human? Complete plus Easter Egg, an extra 'epilogue'. This is well worth reading.
V V In Between by Spark of chaos If the world is not fair and it hurts so bad, do you have to follow the rules? Beautifully written and heart wrenching story. Complete
Indago by LdDurham A missed potion reveals a secret about Draco and Snape. They are part of a rare species and they have sniffed out Harry as one of their own. Can Harry stand up to the two violent, animalistic, and sexually charged Slytherins? I'm not fond of D/s stories and found Harry's extreme submissiveness (innate), to a well characterised bastard Draco, and, a trying to be in control of his aggression and anger, Snape, downright uncomfortable to read, particularly at the beginning. This is, however, well written and does show Harry's internal angst and subdued anger at the unfairness of the situation he find himself stuck in, plus as it progresses it evolves into a love story that somehow manages to keep pretty well in character for both Harry and Draco. Certainly worth a read, especially for the later chapters, despite my reservations. Complete. Indago: Reborn is the sequel, another well written, but slightly uncomfortable read with mpreg thrown into the mix. Complete. Indago 3 continues the story and introduces us to Harry and Draco's children.
V Intended by Lady Vader. Harry is deliberately infected with Vampirism in order to make him crave a mate... Draco's not all that keen on being craved though... She calls it a badfic! I think it's original, intriguing and enjoyable. Complete
V Inter Sol Solis et Luna by Wihstrum. The night of the 24th of June 1997; Lord Voldemort killed Harry Potter. Did he? A colliding of the fates of three different people grants Harry a second chance. As a Vampire. With the most unusual person as his Sire. This is well written, intriguing and taking its time to develop a relationship between Harry and Draco, but the author is very, very slow at updating. On hiatus
V Kite String by mayushi. You be a kite, and I'll be your kite string. Okay? - Kennedy to Willow, BtVS A really strong and powerful beginning that fades a little by the end, but overall an enjoyable and original story. Complete

W Life Less Frightening by skarch86 After Dumbledore's death everything goes downhill for Draco. When Harry comes unwillingly into the picture, they both have to learn that things are not always what they appear to be. A long and satisfying read with Harry and Draco very much in character. Complete
# V Light in the Shadows or here by A Brighter Dawn - In another universe, where Harry Potter never existed, things are getting desperate. Voldemort rules all with Lucius at his right hand and Draco as his dark heir. Those who would rebel against him have been placed in the Shadow Camps. A last group of radicals desperately seek the help of one who can defeat the Dark Lord. They use a long forgotten ritual to bring them someone with the power to destroy this evil... Harry Potter never can get a break. A very interesting and enjoyable read.
Limits by Beren Draco has found the line of what he will and will not do for the Dark Lord, so he has a plan. Delightfully funny Draco as Veela fic. Complete
E Lost Roses by graylor Nothing is what it seems. Worse, no one is who they seem to be. Draco Malfoy is lost among the roses of summers past, present, and future and has to weave his own life from the briars. Draco's first POV interspaced with others people third person POV. Fascinating mix of mystery, intrigue and conspiracies with a rich use of Beltane and its history. Complete
Lost Without You by Cynara18 - When Draco discovers he's not really Lucius' son, he's truly a half-veela, he also finds out that in a few weeks, he'll attain his soul-mate. When he discovers his mate is Harry Potter, how will he react, and how does Harry feel? Angst, anger, denial and romance. Last update March 05.
V Lucid Dreaming by Irana Darkling. Draco intends to claim what is his. And no one had better get in his way. This was written for the 2005 HPVamp Deathday Ficathon and is short, intriguing and Complete, but the author is considering expanding it. I hope she does.
Mate by Lady Vader - My own twist on the 'Draco's a Veela' cliché. Draco's a Veela and does NOT wantHarry... or does he? Complete and worth a read particularly in the second half when Draco finds himself unable to deny his need.
# Milk is my sugar by Michael Serpent - My Veela twist... HD. Harry does something very stupid and ends up protecting Malfoy from the lust-crazed fellow students. He also decides to help the ranting and paranoid Malfoy to find his mate. Warning: This story is completely crazy. Harry ends up being Draco's Keeper after destroying the drug that keeps Draco's allurement under control. A lovely original take with good characterisation. Unfortunately the story will never be completed due to the death of the author, unless his betas decide to continue, but is still very much worth reading.
W Moonrise by Hijja. When Dung Fletcher turns up dead in the woods around Hogsmeade, Harry goes to investigate... and finds a lot more than he's bargained for. A fascinating, well written story. Complete.
Never Mind The Bollocks, It's Draco/Harry by Duinn Fionn This is crack!fic at its worst. Can we say cliché? Yes, yes we can. I tried to get them all. It's also rather clever and funny. Complete
W No Exit by flamewarrior. When you're trapped and there's no way to escape, which instincts win out? Very interesting and intriguing story written for the happy holiday summer 07 round. Complete
# Oathbreaker by KC. I tend to avoid fanfic that boldly states it is Dracocentric as I get highly irritated by stories that paint Draco as whiter than white and lambaste Harry for failing to understand Draco's 'innate goodness' *g*. I needn't have worried with this one as Draco is his canon self, mean, nasty, spiteful and manipulative, he does however show some redeeming characteristics such as immense loyalty to family and friends and courage in the face of adversity. Harry is beautifully depicted and characterised even as seen through Draco's eyes. The writing is good and well crafted and the history KC provides for the purebloods/dark wizards is fascinating. The magical creature element of the story takes time to develop, but is an important part of the story. All in all this is an excellent read Complete
# V Obligations by ZS desperate times; desperate measures and the sequel Obligations 2 is a clever, original and intriguing take on the Vampire theme post Hogwarts with a beautifully characterised Harry. Complete
Oh. My. Gods or A Veela! Harry Valentine by indigo kitti Harry is a Veela and so is Draco Malfoy, but they're not mates. Nope, nope... waaaaaait... (Total crack fic). Short, funny and enjoyable. Complete.
# V Our Tree by Draco. While getting a tattoo, Draco plays back the days of his life with Harry. (grab tissue now). Complete. The tissue warning is worth noting. *g* This was written for Vamp!Draco challenge, and is a very good read.
# Paint my World by JenniferButterflyGirl. After the war, Draco just wants to settle down and live with his mate. Harry just wants to be left alone. Luckily for Draco, an extreme lack of Completence in the Ministry and an archaic law may give him the chance he's been looking for.. A unique and highly enjoyable take on the veela theme.

Refuge by Lina. What if the reason Draco Malfoy ran to Harry Potter was because he couldn't live without him? Would a moment of indecision on Draco's part be enough to secure him Harry's protection and eventually his love? Excellent and original start. If it keeps up like this it will definitely be one to keep an eye on
V Remembered Fire by oldenuf2nb Harry is dead, Draco mourns, but 19 years later Harry's wand signature is associated with a 'mercenary' who is fighting a dark threat in America. Draco goes to investigate. A very interesting and well written vampire story as well a beautiful love story. Complete.
E Saving Draco Malfoy by Dayspring. While the Wizarding world waits for Harry Potter to save them, Draco Malfoy decides to save himself. Long, interesting story featuring mpreg and a devious Draco Malfoy who will do anything, including manipulating Harry Potter, to avoid the destiny his father has planned for him. Complete.
Seul Amour by skarrah. good old 'draco comes into his veela inheritance' gig. harry doesn't want to play this game. can draco and the new DADA teacher and family get harry to go along with it? can draco go along with it?! Draco's pov and mostly Draco at the moment, but a nice slow development and some intrigue.
Seventh Year by Prof. Cassie. Harry Potter wakes to find himself different, Draco Malfoy comes into his inheritance. The two boys find themselves stuck at Hogwarts over the summer between their sixth and seventh year. Interesting and well written.
W Silver and Gold by romaine A small, torn piece of parchment reached Harry's hands six months before the end of the war. All it said was, "Save the Wolf." The day after the defeat of Voldemort, Harry makes good on his promise to the wizard who sent the note. Enjoyable story Complete
V Sine qua non by dragon charmer. Sine qua non - Latin - noun - an essential condition or requirement. Nicely written story with Harry as Vampire. Complete
# W Snakes and Ladders by Alvira. Sixteen years after he last clapped eyes on the Boy Who Lived To Be A Thorn In Draco Malfoy's Side, Draco is filling Snape's old shoes with aplomb. History, though, has a nasty habit of repeating itself. Draco has his comfortable existance turned topsy-turvy with the appearance at Hogwarts of Harry's son, who turns out to be able disrupt Draco's life with as much competency as his father. This is a slight cheat as it is Wystan (Harry's son) who is the werewolf, but this story is too good to miss. I loved Wystan and thoroughly enjoyed his encounters with Draco, while the Harry/Draco episodes were wonderfully in character and full of so much UST it was great. Highly enjoyable story with a great ending. Complete

The Challenge of being a Veela's mate by triola Harry wakes up looking like a girl, Draco is possessive, yet oddly cuddly, Hermione squeals like the girl she is, and Pansy is rather likeable. A tale of a Veela and his mate. Or was it a mate and his Veela? This beginning was really funny and rather clever, plus the use of Harry's voice in first person was highly original, and even if I think it got a little twee by the end it's still worth a read. He has turned his back on the magical world - until one day, when Draco Malfoy gets into a car crash before Harry's eyes and ends up paralysed in a wheelchair. The fact that Draco is a part Veela is a very small, but important, part of this long and angsty story. Complete.
The Handsome Stranger by dragon charmer. The war is over, Voldemort is dead and Harry gets on with his life. Six years later a stranger turns up at the Ottery St Catchpole Christmas Party. A very interesting female OC, and a great way of getting Draco and Harry to have sex! That being said, it doesn't really belong here as the Vampire is the OC, but what the heck. *g* Complete

Wind Rider by SuishouTenshi or here. Harry's heart stops beating before the night of his 16th birthday, but he wakes up 25 days later with a new addition. Draco is being tickled into insanity by a blazing desire, and who but Harry can save him? Both boys are changed in this story and both fight their 'destiny' tooth and nail. This is an interesting and well written story.
# W Wolf - part l to Vl by colibiri After his fifth year, Harry dropped out of his life and spent a year in muggle London's seamy underbelly. This, six part, series is about Harry as a werewolf. The Harry we see is very different from the Harry of the books, but not so changed that he is totally unrecognisable. His interaction with Draco is fascinating, even if there is no Draco, or many other familiar faces, at all in the first part, and his friendship with Hermione and Ron wonderful. This is well written and absorbing, although it is very dark, cruel and violent in places and is not a light or particularly easy read. Complete
